Video Spotlight – Yoko Ono

World Renowned Conceptual Artist and Activist



Yoko Ono was part of the Fluxus group and believed in the collision of art and everyday life. She is a pioneering feminist artist whose radical works include "Destruction Performance” and “Cut Piece” concerning violence against women’s bodies. Ono and Lennon moved into their first New York City apartment together on Bank Street. The composer John Cage lived next door. She staged experimental art and music events in various unexpected downtown locations, including rooftops.
