is a blended learning tool that delivers student engagement, curricular proficiency and 21

century skills by offering creative digital storytelling units in LA, History, and STEAM. From the creation of a new dystopia, to an investigative report about water corruption; from a rap about immigration, to a police drama that is resolved through trigonometry, the Meridian Stories’ experience is designed to deliver on current educational standards while also demanding an application of these critical skill sets: collaboration, creativity, problem-solving, and media literacy. is currently accepting teacher enrollments for their online professional development seminars. This series of eight one-hour seminars include a step-by-step approach so you can successfully implement our curriculum and bring Civic Life Project into your classroom. The program offers the full training, curriculum, and continuing support as a professional development package. Spring sessions have begun, so complete the

to receive information about their program. The cost of the full package is $950. Financial aid is available by request.

News Literacy Project Receives $5 Million Grant
The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation awarded the News Literacy Project $5 million to expand their news literacy education programs in the United States. As part of that effort, Knight’s support will help broaden the reach of NewsLitCamps® — the News Literacy Project's signature professional development workshops for middle school and high school educators. The workshops, hosted in partnership with local news organizations, gives educators real-life, real-time insights from journalists in their communities. Read more
