PRSA Southern Arizona is pleased to host guest speaker Jon Goldberg, founder and chief reputation architect of Reputation Architects Inc., an award-winning strategic communications and reputation risk management advisory firm dedicated to building, protecting and restoring reputations in a world of evaporated trust and unprecedented stakeholder engagement.
Trained as a journalist, Jon founded Reputation Architects in 2009 after more than 25 years as an advisor to corporate and non-profit executives and boards and a senior leader at some of the world’s most prominent communications firms and a front-line spokesman for major corporations and non-profit organizations.

His crisis management experience runs the gamut from government investigations; regulatory inquiries and criminal indictments, to cyberattacks and data breaches; technology and business continuity failures; food, drug and consumer product recalls; class action and mass tort litigation; environmental disasters; workplace violence; harassment and discrimination claims; labor disputes; and activist attacks. Explore APR in 2025
By Shelia Storm, APR, PRSA Southern Arizona APR Chair
You’ve seen headlines about accreditation and maybe read an article or two, but did you ever really explore if accreditation in public relations fits into your professional development plan?
It’s a new year and a perfect time to explore the value of PRSA’s APR for your career, and how it can make you more strategic in your planning to achieve even greater results for your organization.
When is the right time to seek accreditation? Once you have five years of public relations or related experience, you can consider how accreditation can impact your status within your organization and your career.
It’s easy to say you have a lot on your plate and continually push back on pursuing this game-changing professional development opportunity, but don’t delay any longer. It’s always the right time to consider this skill-enhancing career development resource.
Preparing for accreditation can take time, depending on your experience and knowledge about the industry. What’s great about the path to APR is you can prepare for it at your own pace. Still, you’ll want to set a personal deadline to keep yourself on track. If you veer off, no problem - just get back to it when you can. For some, it’s a six-month process, and for others, it might be accomplished over a year or two.
Either way, you gain an immense amount of knowledge as you go through the process of preparing for accreditation.
For some inspiration on how a communications professional involved with the national PRSA organization puts her credentials to good use, read her story.
Ready to learn more about APR? Contact APR Chair Sheila Storm at (520) 405-1181 for more information. Dig in deeper on the national site, review the brochure and explore the opportunity to add APR behind your name in the coming year.
