Cholla District Weekly Update

February 6, 2026

Dear Cholla Residents,

The Glendale Police Department is dedicated to protecting lives and property with integrity, courage and respect. Recently, the GPD Public Information Office passed along impactful testimony from an individual in the community about Glendale officers making a difference. During repeated encounters during a difficult time in his life, he was treated consistently with respect which aided him in his road to sobriety.

Glendale Police Department Testimony

The Glendale Police Department is dedicated to engaging with the community through the Community Action Team. Get to know the Glendale Police through their monthly Coffee with a Cop meeting, attending the Citizen Police Academy, planning a G.A.I.N. (Getting Arizona Involved in Neighborhoods) celebration in your neighborhood, and more. Learn more on their web site.

I have always been a strong supporter of our Public Safety Personnel. Each year, I host a Public Safety Appreciation Day in the Cholla District to provide a complimentary lunch to all on-duty Public Safety personnel in the City of Glendale. This year's event will take place on April 8.

As a resident of Arrowhead, I too have experienced the frustration with traffic flow along 75th Avenue with the recent lane restrictions. While the work is necessary and delays are to be expected, I have been communicating with ADOT and City Transportation staff to communicate the need for collaboration on clearly marked signs and to see if anything can be addressed as far as signal timing. We are all working to see if there is any type of relief possible with these traffic challenges while this important construction takes place from now through mid-April.

My office is always open and ready to assist you. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns that you may have. I value your input and opinion.

Warm Regards,

Lauren Tolmachoff
