Roots & Wings Sunday School
Please meet your teachers Mrs. Koch and Mrs. Stevenson in the back of the Chapel during announcements, We've got a great class planned. At this lesson, we will take a look at the Bible to learn about the life of Jesus. Our story, In My Father’s House , tells about how Jesus lived and the things he taught to help us on our own journey of understanding. We’ll even make a booklet using Biblical measurements! Children in grades K - 5 are encouraged to join us!

"LAUGH" Was, Well, Pretty Funny...
Every once in a while you experiment right? And that's what we did with "Laugh" last Saturday @ 4:30 pm at the Gorton Community Center. Our leader Chelsea Greenbaum led us in an hour that included a number of creative, interactive exercises at the beginning, wonderfully effective meditation at the end - and a ton of laughter in between. Thanks to Zach Hancock, Lydia Holzman & Ned Jessen for putting the event together.
The JOB:
Office Building
As I was leaving a gathering at the Library last night I looked across the street at our humble, two-room office - recently informally dubbed "JOB" for Jessen Office Building. I could not help but smile, because JOB is buzzing these days!
Yesterday there were two meditation classes and scheduled meetings. This morning and this evening, two book study classes led by Zach. Late this afternoon, ukulele lessons taught by Elliott. Throughout the day, church accountant Chris Davitt and other staff members working on various tasks. Tomorrow morning, things will be humming again with another meditation class.
And here's more good news - because of the generosity of people who helped us buy JOB a number of years ago, and folks who participated in the " Stay the Same" Capital Campaign that retired the mortgage two years ago, we own the building free and clear. Happily, the church has zero debt.
It seems like the greatest way the church can say "thank you" to all who helped us buy the building is by maximizing our use of it. And that, friends, seems to be happening. Thank you!
