Below you will find a list of upcoming courses that are now available for enrollment in the PD Portal. For more information about any of these courses, please visit the PD Portal, open the course catalog, and review the syllabus. If you are interested in enrolling in a course, please consult with your in-house professional development specialist (IHPDS) to determine if the course meets your professional learning goals.


Learn About a New Resource for Tutor Coordinators on March 7


The Professional Learning Opportunities (ProLO) project invites you to join Rachel Baron and Lynne Watson at 9:00 a.m. on March 7, 2024, to learn about Tutoring Routines, a new resource for tutor coordinators. During this one-hour webinar, there will also be opportunities to network with your peers from across the state. Any staff who work closely with volunteer tutors and/or classroom aides are invited to join at this link.

eData Courses - enroll by March 1.

  • Introduction to eData v2 for Adult Education - starts March 5.
  • Introduction to eData v2 for Family Literacy - starts March 12. Please note that participants who are new to the eData system should also register for Introduction to eData v2 for Adult Education.


Using and Scoring ACIRI - starts March 6, enroll by March 13 and complete the course by April 5.


Supporting Adult Learner Transition to Postsecondary Education and Training - starts March 11, enroll by March 8.


ESL Foundations: Classroom Applications for Language Instruction Principles and Theories - starts March 15, enroll by March 14.


Teaching Emergent Readers in an ESL Classroom - starts March 29, enroll through March 28.

Motivating Adult Learners to Persist

Complete the course on the LINCS website and upload your certificate of completion to the PD Portal within 30 days of enrollment for professional development credit.


New Administrator Training

This online course provides important information for new adult education program administrators and will be available to new administrators as needed throughout the program year. To enroll in the course, please email Callie Hazan at chazan@tiu11.org.


Staff Induction Verification Course

New staff members who are participating in the staff induction process enroll in this course after they have completed the required activities.

Modules


Staff Induction Modules

This series of modules is designed for new agency staff members as part of a customizable onboarding process. Existing staff may also choose to complete these modules at any time.


On-Demand Modules

On-demand modules are offered in the PD Portal to provide participants with flexible learning opportunities on a variety of topics. Please note that these on-demand modules are not part of the series of modules designed for staff induction.


Tutor Training Modules

These modules cover the foundational skills needed by volunteers working in adult education programs. The nine modules serve as a component of volunteer tutor and classroom aide training and can be completed at any time.

Resources in the PD Portal


Friday Lunchtime Webinar Resources

The Professional Development System offers Friday Lunchtime Webinars most Fridays at noon. Enroll in Friday Lunchtime Webinar Resources in the course catalog to access the complete schedule of webinars, the webinar link, presentation slides, and recordings.


Program PD Team

Administrators, in-house professional development specialists, and digital literacy specialists enroll in the Program PD Team course in the PD Portal to access essential tools and resources related to professional development at their agency.


Student Support Coordinator Professional Development Resources

Any adult education staff person who provides student support services can enroll in this space in the PD Portal course catalog. Participants will gain access to resources, including the Student Support Coordinator Hub and networking events.


Tutor Coordinator Resource Hub

This hub contains documents and resources to support tutor coordinators. Any staff who train or work closely with volunteer tutors or classroom aides can enroll in this space in the PD Portal course catalog to access the resources.
