Love Medicine : Partner Love, Self-Love, One Love
What's love got to do with it?
Some native communities are creating PSAs developed by their youth as influencers to educate and to begin a conversation about what is a healthy or toxic relationship. Tribal health educators are utilizing visual tools, such as Toxic People: How to End a Bad Relationship  in working with native youth.

For resources, tips and tools for youth, young adults and caring adults on healthy relationships, check out: at Rainn , StrongHearts Native Helpline and Love Is Respect and We R Native Learning about relationships, consent, boundaries and effective communication are daily lessons and ones to learn for a life time!

Curricula Highlight - Native Voices
As Native people, we understand that good health requires balance between body, mind, spirit and community. We also know from our elders that sex and sexuality – although at times difficult to discuss – are important aspects of health and wellbeing. To get the conversation started check out Native VOICES , a 23-minute video designed to encourage condom use and improve condom negotiation skills among Native teens and young adults.

The culturally tailored video covers important sexual health skills including:
  • Talking to your partner about sex
  • STD testing
  • Defining and enforcing personal values, and Healthy relationships.

Native VOICES was the first evidence-based intervention recognized by the CDC for preventing HIV and other STDs among AI/AN youth. Native VOICES can be easily integrated into the flow of services provided by schools, clinics, treatment centers and other community-based programs, and can be implemented by anyone.

Pop some popcorn and host a Native VOICES watch party!
