To spread extra love this month, we partnered with the First Presbyterian Church of Southampton to host a Valentine's Open House for our customers where they could pick out coats, clothing, personal care items, household products, and receive information on other services in our area.

In February, we distributed 26,738 meals and assisted 19 local families with essential home utilities, gaps in rent, or needed car repairs. Our neighbors are really struggling with hardships of food insecurity and financial pressure. Your unwavering support ensures our community members are seen and have the support they need to get through.

To support our mission, donate here.

This month, we had 881 visits making it the busiest month ever in our 42-year history. For the past two years, we had just over 500 visits to our pantry in February to show you the dramatic increase in food insecurity in our community right now. We have registered 153 new families already in 2023. As you can see, we need more food than ever before, which is why we continue to need YOUR support.

Families can receive at least $600 a month in food support from our pantry. We distribute real, delicious, and nutritious food. Together, every Wednesday and Friday, we distributed a bag of non-perishables, fruits and vegetables from HAPCO Farms, dairy products and frozen meat to those who need it most. Thank you to our partners Long Island Cares and Island Harvest who help us provide much of the food our neighbors depend on!

This past month we also received:

Fresh produce purchased from local farms through a grant provided to East End Food Institute by AFTEE

A full truckload of fresh potatoes from Corwith Farms

Crates of winter quash from The Green Thumb

Soup from Thyme & Again and Kiwanis Club of Southampton

Bread and Bagels from The Golden Pear

Turkey Breasts from North Sea Farms

Baked Goods from Tate's Bakeshop

Over the past two weeks we provided additional food for families while kids were home on Winter Break. In addition to our regular distribution items, families received extra milk, nuts, fruit, granola bars, yogurt, cheese, chicken nuggets, and burgers so students that rely on school meals had enough ready-to-eat food at home.

Your gifts allow our customers to put healthy food on the table week after week. Thank you for loving our neighbors!

We are doing all we can to support children, adults, and seniors in need.

Many of our clients are struggling to have enough work to support their families. If you work somewhere that is in need of additional help, please reach out to us to learn about our client job board. You can email molly@heartofthehamptons.org with any opportunities.

All winter thanks to an anonymous donor, we partner with Catena’s Market to deliver hot meals to seniors. Each week we provide a delicious ready to enjoy meal for seniors and their caregivers, and give a hearty frozen soup for an additional meal during the week. The delivery also serves as a warm check-in for a lonely senior from one of our loving volunteers.

We are able to be a crucial safety net and helping hand thanks to donors like you. Thank you for loving our neighbors!
