Thank You and Farewell
Rev. Bill Sterrett
The Rev. William Sterrett, who has been pastor of the Amicable Congregational Church, United Church of Christ for the past 34 years, will be stepping down from that role at the end of February. In addition to his valued service to church members, Bill has also been involved in Tiverton community affairs and, notably, has collaborated with the Tiverton Public Library to create a community conversation series and a spirituality and politics book group. The church and library have also partnered to provide Thanksgiving meals to the those in need in our town.

We thought that friends of the library might want to be a part of Bill’s farewell celebrations. These will include a special online worship service on his last day, Sunday February 28th, an opportunity to make a video farewell, join a live Zoom farewell after the worship and a goodbye drive by in front of the church that afternoon. Anyone wishing to participate in any or all of these events may contact Charles Simonson at charles-simonson@cox.net or 401-624-7367. If you wish to simply to send a note, contact Charles and he’ll provide the address.

Get on Board!
We have vacancies on the Friends Board of Directors in the roles of President and Vice President. If you, or someone you know, has some time and is looking for a fun volunteer opportunity and a terrific way to help support programs and museum/activity passes to benefit the community, please leave your contact details at the Information Desk and someone will be in touch.

We are looking for Library supporters who can communicate with other board members (via phone, text, email), assist as needed with the annual book sale and other events, and attend monthly meetings (currently virtual by phone or Zoom, in-person when it is safe to do so).

Simply Put
We are a 501(c)(3) organization that requires a board to exist. New leaders are needed to replace those who have served and to energize Library support in new ways.
