Anniversaries

No one gets married in February either!

Welcome New Members!

Matt, Lisa and Elias Baseler

We are the Baselers consisting of Matthew (Father), Lisa (Mother), and Elias (Son). We were introduced to sailing approx. 6-7 years ago by the Grays as well as my uncle. For a few years we enjoyed hitching rides on other people’s boats. However approximately 4 years ago we bought a 1975 San Juan 21 from Tom and Pam Ambrass. Since that momentous occasion, we have been trailer sailing at Pymatuning as well as Lake Arthur while making various improvements to the boat. Looking forward to getting to know everyone better in the next year. See you soon!

Jim and Frances Ciotti

I am a past member, I joined initially in 1987 and stayed until 1999. At that time I had a merit 25 “bad boys“ and raced on Wednesday nights with Jerre Patterson.

I was looking for a place to stay up there and was gifted a trailer up at PYC and went there and stayed until 2000 and we purchased an Erickson 30 and kept it at Ashtabula. I’ve been very active with the Ashtabula Yacht Club and just completed a two-year term as Commodore. I figured it was a good time to downsize and come back to PCC.

I recently purchased a J 22 and plan on racing again on Wednesday nights. I have been an intermittent face at PCC racing with Jerre Patterson on Semper Fi.

We are looking forward coming home and visiting with our old and new friends.

Please join us as we extend a warm welcome to our new Members! Please introduce yourself when you see them around and help make them feel a part of our community!

Dues and Fees Schedule

Bill Gray

REMINDER - if you haven't sent in your Dues for 2026, please read the below section from the January Breeze.

Per Club By Laws, Dues and Fees are due by March 1. If you are unable to pay by March 1, please contact Pat Donnelly to discuss your payment options.

You can find the 2026 PCC Dues and Fees Statement here.

Again this year, the Dues and Fees Statement is a fillable PDF. We encourage everyone to fill it out electronically as it greatly reduces errors and legibility issues. Occasionally there have been issues with email virus scanners flagging this as a virus because of the code in the form that does the automatic calculations. If you have this issue, you can download a copy directly from our website: https://www.pymatuningcenturyclub.com/membership. At the bottom there is a link to the Dues and Fees Statement.

To get started, fill in the personal information on the first page. Note, boat length is necessary for the calculations to work correctly on the second page, so that is important if you will be keeping a boat at PCC. The second page starts with 3 questions at the top. Click the appropriate button and pick the appropriate drop down. This will auto fill much of your Dues and Fees Statement. Then fill in the applicable blue boxes only (they may be another color depending on your computer settings), not all will apply to everyone. The totals will auto calculate and give you a grand total that you owe. Once the form is fully filled out hit the print button and send a printed copy along with your payment to the address on the form. Please fill out the form in its entirety.

If you have any issues, feel free to give me a call or text or email and I’ll work with you on it. Note, the form may not work on Apple mobile devices but should be compatible with other browsers (Edge, Firefox, Chrome). Saving to your desktop and opening with Adobe Acrobat is the best way to fill out the form if other methods don’t work.

A few notes for 2026:

  • Basic membership has increased by $10 for 2026.
  • Continuing for 2026, we are requiring all members to either contribute work hours to the club or pay a $100 buy out fee. The work hours are equivalent to 2 (Spring and Fall) work parties. Attend both parties and you’ve fulfilled your requirement. If you are unable to attend one or both parties, you can make up the hours by doing other work around the club. A list will be posted at the club. Each work party is about 4 hours of work, so the intention is about 4 hours of other work around the club to make up those hours if you don’t attend a work party. There are lots of opportunities around the club from painting, maintenance, light construction, party setup/teardown, pressure washing, etc. If you prefer, you can pay a $100 buy out fee and the collected money will go towards those projects.
  • If you are an original DLH (permanent dock) investor you will continue to pay the $125 dock maintenance fee, all other renters pay the $500 dock rental fee.
  • There is a spot for an optional donation to various club funds. This is optional but is an easy way to put a few extra dollars (round up!) in one of several funds.
  • If you want to be fully electronic we can accept payments by Zelle. Please contact Pat Donnelly directly for this option.

All dues and fees are due by March 1, 2026.

PCC Sailing School Updates

Our 2026 Small Boat class schedule is now published on our website under LESSONS. For planning purposes for anyone interested, we will continue with the schedule of first Saturday of each month (May - September), with the first class (May) being classroom/theory session as the water will be too cold for sailing yet.

You can find more information, prices and an Application on our website. We encourage you to apply early if interested!

We are looking for a Hobie Getaway

by Lidia Gray

This year, we would like to add a Hobie Getaway (or a Hobie 18 with wings) to our school fleet for teaching. Our small boat instructor credentials cover a catamaran within the fleet of boats we can teach on. The boat must be seaworthy and safe. If you know of any in the market, please let us know!

Monthly Hors d'Oeuvre Parties!

Our monthly Hors d 'Oeuvre parties are some of our favorite events! No RSVP's required and no cost - just show up and bring a dish to share. BYOB or donate to the club fridge! During the winter months (Nov. - Apr.), parties start at 5pm on the first Saturday of every month. During May - October, plan on eating around 6pm to allow more time on the water! This is a great opportunity to invite friends or family and show them what we are all about or meet some of our new members. See you all then!

Next event: Saturday, February 7th, @5PM.

Input to our monthly newsletter is encouraged and greatly appreciated! Please email articles and photos to Lidia at szarak2000@yahoo.com or text photos to 724-967-1910 by the 25th of each month.
