A Word From Our Board...
Theresa Murphy, CFCI Board Member

How did you become involved with the Community Foundation of Central Illinois?
John Disharoon initially approached me about my interest level. A lively meeting with John and Mark Roberts confirmed that this Board was something I definitely wanted to be a part of. I love our community, and CFCI provided me an incredible opportunity to serve in a new capacity.

What do you like about your volunteer service with CFCI?
I have had the privilege of meeting a dedicated group of Board members, staff and community leaders who are inspiring and committed. I have learned so much about the good work by our community non-profits through serving on the Grants Committee. I thought I had a good breadth and depth of knowledge BEFORE serving on CFCI – I wasn’t even close to fully appreciating all that our community has to offer!

What should everyone know about CFCI?
Everyone should know that CFCI does a phenomenal job as a trusted resource that is able to serve a wide variety of diverse interests at all levels of charitable giving by linking donors with a vast array of non-profit companies.

What are you looking forward to the most with CFCI in the next 5 years?
I am excited to be a part of the next 5 years with CFCI as they continue to grow and address the really tough and challenging circumstances that our non-profits face! The commitment, knowledge and expertise of the CFCI collective is outstanding!
