2020 Annual Meeting Congregational Lecturer
Jim Waechter, Moderator
|
|
|
One of the highlights of our June 27 – 30, 2020
Annual Meeting and Conference
in Portland, Maine will be Rev. Dr. Mary (Mimi) Biedron, the Congregational Lecturer. Mimi will speak on
“The Great Crossing, Then and Now”
where she will reflect on the beliefs, theological assertions, and self-understanding of the Pilgrims who landed in 1620. What can this tell today’s Congregationalists, as we confront a different, but equally profound, kind of Great Crossing? What beliefs, assertions and understandings do we need to carefully take along, and what do we need to leave behind? Mimi is Senior Minister of North Congregational Church in Farmington Hills, Michigan. She is a graduate of Methodist Theological School in Ohio, Master of Divinity (1999) and Doctor of Ministry (2015).

Love Wins!
Laura Hamby, Secretary, Board of Governors
Let all that you do be done in love.
1 Corinthians 16:4
The Board of Governors (BoG) serves on your behalf. In recent meetings we have been reminded of the work of our forebears and their founding of the Congregational Foundation (CF). The CF was founded out of love and care. Love of the Congregational Way and care that the NACCC will be equipped to carry on God’s work for many years to come. Today’s BoG carries on in the spirit of our forebears, caring for and seeking endowments, and preparing for fundraising campaigns. During the month of February, we take time to thank our founders for their vision, work, and Love. . . for they led the way, following the scripture,
Let all that you do be done in love.
The following individuals signed the 2003 Articles of Incorporation, and became the original Board of Directors for the Foundation: Donald Bentley, Robert T. Carlson, Susan Carter, Harold Frentz, Bruce Rothmann, Grant Stannard, and Carolyn Sundquist.

NACCC Church Giving Is Important To Our Success
Rev. Dr. Cindy Bacon Hammer, Chair, Board of Directors
Did you know that March 31
st
is the end of the NACCC fiscal year? That means that there are only a few months left for member churches to make their annual contribution to the
Shared Ministries Fund
. Please remind your church leadership of the importance of making their gift today! The NACCC is your Association, and we are asking for your commitment through your financial support.
On behalf of your NACCC leadership, I want to personally thank all our churches for their membership to the NA and want to give a special shout out to those churches who have already donated this fiscal year (April 1, 2019-March 31, 2020) to the Shared Ministries Fund.
