Let the Light In Exhibit at the Moraga Art Gallery
Moraga Art Gallery announces a new exhibit, Let the Light In, an enticing display of creativity, featuring landscape paintings by two member artists, Irene Needoba and Elizabeth Kennen, each gifted with a unique and thoughtful vision of the natural world.
The show also includes paintings, jewelry, ceramics, sculpture, glassware, etchings, woodwork, photographs, prints, and much more by the gallery’s core of members.

New Photography Exhibit, “Grain in the Frame” at Frame 1A Gallery
A unique new exhibit featuring 15 photographers, Grain in the Frame: Celebrating the Vitality of Contemporary Film Photography, opens this month at Alameda’s Frame 1A Gallery.
Called “the small gallery with a big heart” by the East Bay Times, Frame 1A's presentation of Grain in the Frame continues its tradition of bringing cutting edge and classic photography created by local artists to the community. This is a unique exhibit that will intrigue, enlighten, and engage anyone interested in photography in all its forms.

Registration is Open for the 23rd Annual High School Visual Arts Competition
Registration is now OPEN for the 23rd Annual High School Visual Arts Competition, brought to you by Bentley School, the Lamorinda Arts Council, and the Lamorinda Arts Alliance. This annual competition and exhibit celebrates student artwork in four categories: 2D, 3D, photography, and digital art and features an awards ceremony with cash prizes.
Submissions are open to all high school students who live in or attend school in Lafayette, Moraga, Orinda, or any of the Acalanes Union High School District schools. Registration is open through now through February 21.
Join the reception and awards ceremony on Thursday, March 19 from 6:30-8:00pm at the Art Gallery at the Orinda Library.

February Sweet Thursday with author Charlotte Biltekoff Ph.D
There has been a lot of buzz recently about processed food being a problem and the need to eat “real” food. But misperceptions and fears caused by the public’s lack of scientific understanding creates confusion about what real food is.
Join the Sweet Thursday Author Series, presented by the Friends of the Lafayette Library for Real Food, Real Facts, with Author Charlotte Biltekoff, a professor of Food Science & Technology and an endowed professor in Food, Wine, and Culture at UC Davis. She will offer lessons that extend beyond food choice and discuss how people come to accept or reject scientific authority in matters of personal health and well-being.

The International Film Showcase's February selection is Calle Malaga, Morocco’s Oscar submission for this year. This film has already won 6 international awards and was the opening night feature at the Palm Springs International Film Festival earlier this month.

Produced by the Diablo Regional Arts Association, this high-energy, noncompetitive showcase celebrates vocal excellence while supporting arts education and outreach for local students.

California Symphony: Northern Lights
California Symphony’s March concerts feature calming and contemplative music by Northern and Eastern European composers spanning the last century. These include Silvestrov’s meditative Stille Musik, Pärt’s minimalist and powerful Tabula Rasa featuring Concertmasters Jennifer Cho and Sam Weiser, and Sibelius’s uplifting Symphony No. 2 celebrating resilience and Nordic beauty.
California Symphony takes the stuffiness out of the concert experience: take selfies at the photo booth, order a signature cocktail, and sip at your seat. Tickets include a free 30-minute pre-concert talk by award-winning instructor Scott Foglesong, starting one hour before the show.

Diablo Symphony Family Concert: Joy of the Symphony
The Diablo Symphony’s annual family concert, Joy of the Symphony, takes place on March 29. It features Benjamin Britten’s Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra, narrated by local storyteller Josh Kornbluth, along with John Williams’s Star Wars, Main Theme. The program also spotlights seventh-grade pianist Ellie Xuan, winner of the 2026 DSO Yen Liang Young Artist Competition, performing Grieg’s Piano Concerto.
