Hybrid learning starts February 22nd |

- We are very excited to welcome students back to our campuses. Each school is selecting a learning model to maximize the number of students served.
- All families will be notified if they will be able to return and their school's learning model(s) no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 16th.
- In-person learning starts on Monday, February 22nd. Athletics will return, too, starting with football, volleyball and cross country. Soccer practices will begin in March.
- Cohort A students will attend in-person on Monday and Tuesday. Cohort B students will attend on Thursday and Friday. Wednesday is a remote learning day to allow for deep cleaning of school sites.
- If volunteer teachers are not available at your school, we have solutions to maximize the opportunity for students to return to in-person learning.

Use of cameras
Whether in hybrid or remote, cameras must be on!
We want to partner with parents to help keep your student engaged and improve student performance as we teach in an online environment. Because we now have the tools for students to create a virtual background when online, we ask students to keep their cameras on during class time. This will allow them to receive instruction, participate in discussion, ask questions and receive general guidance from teachers and staff with the teacher being able to monitor the student’s engagement and needs.
In order to ensure that the instructional environment is conducive to learning, SFPS has the following expectations:
- Students will log in with first and last name
- Students will have their camera on
- School-appropriate attire is required
- School-appropriate behavior is required
- Special circumstances should be discussed with the teacher and/or principals
Masks
Wearing face masks is an SFPS requirement when at school campuses, at school-sponsored events and on school transportation or with limited exceptions for students who have a physician’s order stating that they cannot wear a face mask. Masks must cover the mouth and nose and fit snugly against the sides of the face in order to contain respiratory droplets. The only time face masks may be off is while eating and drinking during allowed times.
The following masks are NOT allowed:
- Masks that have exhalation valves or vents
- Bandanas
- Scarves
- Neck gaiters (also known as a neck fleece)
- Face shields

Máscaras

Parents may be able to opt-in for
annual state tests
|
|
Currently, the Public Education Department has requested a waiver for the annual statewide accountability tests. If approved, parents have the opportunity to opt in. The PED has asked us to collect information on the number of students who will be taking the annual state tests. Your principal will be given guidance and more information will be provided shortly.

Capital High School has successful accreditation visit and review |
Capital High School (CHS) had a successful accreditation visit and review during January. The accreditation process examines the whole institution–policies, programs, practices, learning conditions and cultural context–to determine how well the parts work together to carry out the school’s vision and meet the needs of every learner.
Accreditation isn’t about passing a one-time inspection. Rather, accreditation recognizes education providers that demonstrate and sustain their commitments to continuous improvement and better learner outcomes.
We would like to thank the CHS team for having a great visit and review!
Santa Fe High School will be going through its accreditation at the end of the month.

Capital High School (CHS) tuvo una exitosa visita de acreditación y revisión durante enero. El proceso de acreditación examina toda la institución (políticas, programas, prácticas, condiciones de aprendizaje y contexto cultural) para determinar qué tan bien las partes trabajan juntas para llevar a cabo la visión de la escuela y satisfacer las necesidades de cada alumno.
La acreditación no se trata de pasar una inspección única. Más bien, la acreditación reconoce a los proveedores de educación que demuestran y mantienen sus compromisos con la mejora continua y mejores resultados para los estudiantes.
