FREEDOM FAIR and RALLY on February 28, 2026

As we all know well, democracy, the rule of law, and our freedoms are under relentless attack by the Trump administration. But opposition is growing by the day, and collectively “We the People” have more power to resist than we realize! Minneapolis has shown us the power of neighbors organizing together, standing in resistance to ICE while also caring for one another and protecting children living in fear.

Join us on February 28 for the Freedom Fair, a gathering rooted in community and commitment to democracy. At a time when many of us feel the weight of uncertainty, coming together matters more than ever. This fair is about strengthening the bonds that hold us steady, reminding one another that we are not alone, and renewing our shared commitment to stand up for the values we believe in. Courage truly does breed courage and when we gather side by side, that courage multiplies.

The Freedom Fair will be a morning of connection and inspiration. Enjoy music, local food trucks, and speakers who will remind us why our voices and actions matter.

We’ll also be holding a food drive to support our local food bank, a tangible way to care for our neighbors and demonstrate the power of community in action. Please bring 1-2 cans of food or other non-perishable items to donate. Examples: Peanut butter and nut butter are always needed; canned tuna or chicken; canned soup (like Progresso), etc. Every conversation, every shared moment, and every act of generosity helps build the kind of community we want to live in.

We hope you’ll join us, not just to attend an event, but to stand together, lift one another up, and leave energized for the work ahead.

We’ll close the Freedom Fair with a public rally at the Quail Crossing intersection. Bring your signs and join us in showing the power, unity, and strength of our community.

When: February 28 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM (Freedom Fair); 12:40 PM-1:40 PM (Rally)

Where: At the ramadas and playground area at Quail Creek-Veterans Municipal Park, 1905 N. Old Nogales Highway, Sahuarita, AZ

What to Bring: chairs, sunscreen, non-alcoholic beverages (three food trucks will be on site), your rally signs, and as many friends as you can.

Parking: Park in the on-site parking lot or the designated overflow areas as directed. Please note: parking is limited. Carpool with your friends!

This event is sponsored by We the People R Indivisible (Green Valley-Sahuarita Indivisible chapter), the Green Valley Democrats, the Democratic Club of Quail Creek, and LD19 (Legislative District 19).

SAVE OUR VA

Veterans for Peace and Southern Arizona Community Activists are holding protests every Friday from 7-8:15am to show support to VA workers. S 6th Ave, Entrance.

One of the easiest things you can do to help candidates get elected is to sign their nominating petition. All candidates, incumbents and challengers, must get the support of registered voters by way of a nominating petition. Fortunately, for Arizonians, those signatures can be submitted online through the E-QUAL website.

You will need either your driver’s license or your voter registration number, and the last 4 digits of your social security number.

Note that new candidate petitions are added from time to time. If you have already signed, please check back to see if there are new petitions available for you to sign.  Here is the link: https://apps.azsos.gov/equal/

For candidates running under Clean Elections, you may contribute $5 towards their campaign on the same website.

Petitions are also available at GVD Headquarters.
