The Ottawa Rowing Club's virtual Annual General meeting takes place on Wednesday, March 1st at 7:00pm! Be sure to join to stay up to date with the Ottawa Rowing Club!
- All Full season members (coaches, umpires, competitive or recreational members who rowed all three seasons Spring/Summer/Fall) have voting privileges.
- Where a Member with voting privileges is under the age of eighteen years, proxy for that Member is granted to one of the Member’s legal guardians
- Seasonal rowers may attend but do not have voting privilege.

The ORC is a volunteer driven organization. The ORC needs motivated people to help manage the ORC. Consider joining the ORC Executive and nominate yourself for one of the following Executive positions by sending an email to the ORC Secretary with the position you would like to consider. Each position is a two year term that that comes up for re-election. We would love to have you as part of the ORC team.

Quebec Provincial Championships Recap | |
On February 5th, some of our athletes (mostly Juniors) participated at the Quebec Provincial Championships. We couldn’t be happier with the results of the first big event of the year- Every junior who participated won at least one medal, for a grand total of 15 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze medals during the event! | |

Following the successful application of two Canadian Tire Jumpstart Grants, we are grateful to have the news be picked up by the Lowertown Echo in hopes of amplifying the reach of our Everybody Rows Ottawa (ERO) programming! This program and the ORC strives to bring sports and play to as many communities as possible.

Wes Kuran Award: Nominate an athlete today! | |
The Wes Kuran award is a $500 scholarship awarded to a deserving university athlete and will be presented at the Annual General Meeting on February 15th, 2023. The scholarship is in honour of Wes Kuran in recognition of his service to the Ottawa Rowing Club as President (1997-2006) and his long service to the club. If you or someone you know is deserving of the award, please follow the application guidelines below.
Eligibility:
- Must have rowed as a competitive athlete for ORC in summer 2022
- Intends on returning to row in summer 2023
- Must be enrolled as a full-time university student in the 2022-2023 academic year
- The athlete demonstrated leadership or volunteerism in rowing or other community activities during 2022. A description of activities and a letter of reference, which includes contact coordinates of the reference, must accompany the application
- The athlete has achieved success in the 2022 on-water season at a major regatta (ex. CSSRAs, Henley, Head of the Charles, etc.), or has had a significant improvement in rowing. Success must be supported with a letter from the coach
The application should include:
- A brief description (less than 500 words) on how the eligibility criteria have been met and why the award is merited
- Supporting letters from references and coaches as detailed above
- Contact information for the scholarship applicant (name, phone number and email address)
- Proof of enrollment for the 2022-2023 academic year
Applications must be emailed to Head Coach Zak (zak@ottawarowingclub.com) by February 1, 2023 with the subject line 'Wes Kuran Award'.
