As we enter the sacred season of Lent, our church family will gather for a meaningful Ash Wednesday service on Wednesday, February 18th at 6 PM. This quiet, reflective time invites us to pause, pray, and open our hearts to God's renewing grace. This brief service will include scripture, prayer, a hymn, and the imposition of ashes.

Invite your neighbor or friend to come with you.

This coming Sunday,

February 22, 2026, will be

the 1st Sunday of Lent.

Scripture Reading will be

Matthew 4.1-11

Jesus is tempted.

Sermon Title: We Serve?

We're hoping to see you this Sunday!

In the event of inclement weather this weekend,

Heritage church closures

will be on WSET by Saturday evening.

Discovery Music

As we enter the reflective season of Lent, our worship will begin with music that helps us settle our hearts and turn toward God with intention. Each Sunday, at approximately 9:50 a.m., just before the service begins, Discovery Band will offer a musical gathering to draw us into prayerful focus.

This week, they will sing and play, My Father's House, a song that reminds us of God's welcome, God's mercy, and the open door that always leads us home. Arriving a few minutes early gives you space to breathe, listen, and prepare your spirit for the journey of Lent.

After the Call to Worship, they will sing, How Great Is Our God and close the service with, Great Are You, Lord. We look forward to worshipping with you this Sunday!

CHANGE FOR CHILDREN

Each year, United Women of Faith, Circle 6, has a fundraiser, "Change for Children." This endeavor raises money for women and children right in our local community.

Because of your generous contributions last year, we were able to distribute funds to our Preschool, Jubilee Family Center, and Food for Thought.

Please help us this year by taking a baby bottle home, fill it with your change, currency, or check (made out to Circle 6), and return the bottle to a container in the narthex by March 1.

Celebrating 60 Years of Serving Our Community

In celebration of our 60th Birthday this year, we are launching our 60 Days of Home Drive! These items help turn a house into a home for households and families we serve.

We will be participating in a District "Rise Against Hunger" session on Saturday, April 11th,2026, here in the Fellowship Hall. Our goal is to fill

another 10,000 bags!

We will begin filling bags at 8 AM SHARP!

We need volunteers to help in the following areas:

  • volunteers (10-12) to be here at 7:30 AM to help unload the truck
  • volunteers (10-12) to load the truck after the session is over
  • volunteers to set up 6 rows of 4 tables and chairs
  • 12 extra chairs set up on the side
  • Lots of volunteers to fill bags

Preschool

Registration for the 2026-2027 school year is currently open to current HUM Preschool families and HUMC members. Visit humpreschool.com/registration for more information.

Easter is just around the corner, and once again, we want to have an Easter egg hunt for our children. Please consider donating individually wrapped candy or stickers to fill our eggs. We will have a box in the narthex for your generous donations. Thank you for making this

event possible.

Welcome Center on Sunday Mornings!

We are seeking volunteers to help with our Sunday morning hospitality. On Sunday mornings, snacks, coffee, and water are available in the Welcome Center before each service. Pre-packaged snacks are readily available and should be supplemented with fresh items you can easily pick up at your local grocery store. Folks who sign up need to have the Welcome Center ready at 8:45 and clean up after the worship service. More volunteers are needed to buy and put out the snacks on Sunday mornings, make the coffee, and clean up after the worship service (typically takes 15 minutes). More specific directions will be posted in the hospitality kitchen off the narthex. If you can help with hospitality this way, please click the link

We're still searching!

If you have a floor cleaner you're no longer using, or one you'd like to pass along, we're looking for one!

Thrift store shoppers, please keep an eye out as well. A gently used cleaner in good working condition would be perfect.

Thank you for spreading the word!
