We host our next Borderlands event for the Arcadia neighborhood this Saturday February 22 at 6am. Volunteers are needed to pack food boxes of approximately 70 lbs. Parable of the Talents is coming up this Sunday, February 23. Our children have been working hard and will showcase their talents following the 10:00 service. All money earned goes to the Project Hope clean water project in Africa. Please email Andrea to sign up or if you have any questions. We will collect non-perishable items (no glass) for our neighbors through Tempe Community Action Agency this Sunday, February 23. Donations may be left on the benches at the front gate to be collected and delivered to TCAA following Sunday's services. Are you feeling stressed? Anxious? Does your nervous system need a reset? Our next afternoon taizé service is this Sunday, February 23, at 4:00pm in the Fellowship Hall. Gathered in the presence of Christ, this is a time of meditative common prayer. During the service, we sing uncomplicated, repetitive songs, uncluttered by too many words, allowing the mystery of God to become known through the beauty of simplicity. Repetition of the words of the chants stills our souls. Silence draws us closer to that inner place where we know God is truly with us. The time and space become sacred. Nothing is hurried. Nothing is rushed.

United Women in Faith will meet next Thursday, February 27, at 7:00pm in the Palo Verde Room for a program by Anne Kneuss who will share some of her experiences from a mission trip last July to Honduras with a nonprofit organization called Give 2 Give Hope.

United Methodist Men will meet on Saturday, March 1, at 8:00am in the Palo Verde Room. All are welcome, men and women; the UMM celebrate diversity, different perspectives, and kindness. A light breakfast and coffee will be served. The March meeting features a program from Desert Botanical Garden docent, Tom Swift, about desert plants and their amazing adaptations and survival techniques to survive the blistering Sonoran Desert summers.

Our annual medical caravan is scheduled for April 22-29. We serve the community of Tochimizolco, Mexico with medical, dental, eyeglasses, and many other services. Tempe Leadership is holding a trivia fundraiser for Lost Our Home pet rescue on Friday, March 7, at 7pm at Boondocks (1024 E Broadway) and Dayspring is putting together a team! Tickets are $15 in advance per person; $20 per person at the door. Each ticket includes one adult beverage and snacks. Additional food and drink will be available for purchase. Dayspring United Women in Faith are collecting gently worn, used and new shoes. Funds2Orgs will issue us a check based on the overall weight of all shoes collected. This will help us meet mission goals as well as giving a second life to your shoes in developing countries. Thank you for your help!
