YBAA Introduces Courtesy Showing Protocol

 

The YBAA Board of Directors has approved a new recommended protocol for handling courtesy showings of vessels.

 

The Protocol defines a Courtesy Showing as 'a Selling Broker's request to a Listing Broker to entertain and accommodate an unaccompanied potential Buyer of the Selling Broker to view a vessel����� listed by the Listing Broker.'

Softer January Brokerage Sales as New Year Begins

After eight months of year-over-year improvement, the U.S. yacht brokerage market started 2014 with 5 percent fewer boat sales in January than in the same month in 2013. According to YachtWorld member brokerages reporting in SoldBoats.com, 1635 boats changed hands during the month, down from 1728, but the total was still higher than the five-year average for the month of 1559.

Thirteen marine products were honored for innovative achievement by the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) and Boating Writers International (BWI) at the 2014 Progressive Insurance Miami International Boat Show. Thirteen products took home 2014 Innovation Awards during NMMA's State of Recreational Boating Industry Breakfast held at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
