We are having a Showcase of all the Camera Support Equipment we rent at S1, as we have many new items that may be of interest. It runs over a 3 day period, between 8am & 5pm. Drop in, and look at the displays, and get a hands-on demo of what you are interested in!

The Expanse - Season 2

New York based photographers Miller Mobley and Kurt Iswarienko were in Toronto awhile back to shoot the promo and gallery for season 2 of the popular Sci-Fi show The Expanse. The show is currently airing Wednesdays at 10pm on SyFy in the US and Space in Canada.

Steve Wilkie Shoots the Gallery for Cardinal mini series

Toronto photographer Steve Wilkie shot the gallery for the 6-episode mini-series Cardinal for CTV. The show follows Detective John Cardinal on a chilling hunt for a brutal killer in a small Northern Ontario town. It is currently airing Wednesday nights at 10pm. Justin Stephens Shoots Shadowhunters Season 2

LA based photographer Justin Stephens was back in Toronto to shoot the gallery for season 2 of Shadowhunters. This popular fantasy TV show airs in the US on Freeform, and in Canada, you can find a new episode weekly on Netflix Canada.

Caitlin Cronenberg Shoots the Gallery for 
Michael: Every Day

Toronto photographer Caitlin Cronenberg shot the gallery for the CBC show Michael: Every Day. The second season of the show (the first being titled Michael: Tuesdays & Thursdays) follows the relationship between a man and his therapist. It airs on CBC Sundays at 9pm.

Matthias Clamer Shoots the Gallery for
Man Seeking Woman - Season 3

Matthias Clamer was back in Toronto for his yearly gallery shoot for the TV show Man Seeking Woman, this time for season 3. The show stars Canadian actor Jay Baruchel as Josh Greenberg, a young man searching for love. It airs on FXX Wednesdays at 10:30pm.

Steve Wilkie shot the gallery for the 6-part television series Mary Kills People, which follows Dr. Mary Harris who, along with being a doctor, assists patients who want to die on their own terms. The series is currently on Global, Wednesdays at 9pm.

A Dizzying Tour of London

Aerial photographer  Jason Hawkes  has seen London from just about every angle. For the last 20 years, he's been photographing Great Britain's capital from an AS355 twin-engine helicopter, capturing the cityscape from as low as 450 feet to as high as 3,000 feet. Here he has shared with The Atlantic a selection of his images from 2016.

Tucked in the arch of Italy's boot, the majestic boutique property is situated in the quiet hilltop town of Bernalda, which has held mythic intrigue for the celebrated director since his grandfather Agostino left the region for New York in 1904.

Which Cameras Were Used on the Oscar-Nominated Films of 2017

The Oscar nominations have been  announced , which, for film fans, answered one of two burning questions they've had all year. The other is, of course, which cameras were used to shoot each of those nominated films and for that we have an answer! The majority of filmmakers decided to go digital with the reigning champion camera, at least for these lists, the ARRI Alexa, while a few on the fringe, like Theodore Melfi for Hidden Figures, Denzel Washington for Fences, and Damien Chazelle for La La Land, shot on film cameras.

Schneider-Kreuznach introduce full-frame tilting cine lenses

Schneider have announced a new set of cine lenses with a unique characteristic - they allow you to tilt the focus plane. The Xenon FF-Prime Cine-Tilt lenses have a similar form-factor to Schneider's regular full-frame cine primes, but add the ability to tilt by plus or minus 4 degrees.

Beyonce's Pregnancy Photos and the Contemporary Artist Behind Them

Beyonc√© can  break the internet  anytime she wants, and recently she did, posting a striking photo announcing her pregnancy with twins to Instagram. Shot by LA and New York-based artist  Awol Erizku , that image was just part of a larger set in which she  poses underwater  and references classical artworks like  Botticelli's The Birth of Venus .
