Declaring the "Good News" of Jesus Christ

Church of the Harvest will be coming with a team of 10 people for a week of missions from March 12-20, 2017.  We are preparing the ground work in great anticipation for all the amazing things that will take place this week.   The plan is to revitalize an area soccer field / recreation area as a gift for this community that has 6,000 people that feed into this specific valley.

We found out a few days ago that the environmental department may delay the soccer field project till they do a thorough analysis of the area. Directly to the left of the field in the above picture is a wellspring that originates in this area and feeds into 4 south american countries. Two nights before our meeting with the city council they had 30 minutes of heavy rain in this neighborhood in which 40 people lost their homes. One of the causes of property loss was the lack of maintenance of this wellspring by the city. Our hope is to get the go ahead by the time the mission's team comes. If not, the project will still proceed forward as soon as the environmental department signs off, but then it would be after the mission's week.

During the week we will have a medical clinic for the neighborhood here at the soccer field area.

WE NEED HELP!

Funds are needed to help sponsor specific portions of this project. If you know an individual, company or church that can help sponsor any portion, that would be a HUGE blessing. This project is the talk of the town. People can't believe that Americans are willing to help them. It is such a needy area that many of the homes don't even have a bathroom. This project will change and impact this community on so many levels.

Campos Do Jordāo
We recently spent 3 days in Campos do Jordāo having 11+ meetings, in preparation to receive the missions team in March.

Photo Above: The heads of the city departments called a special meeting to meet us and discuss the Monte Carlo neighborhood project. We received such a warm welcome. A lot of hoops to jump through with the environmental, health, public works, police, recreation, departments etc. They even made a motion to give us Honorary "Jordanense" citizenship.

Photo Above: We sent out fliers to invite local pastors to an informal "meet and greet." The city allowed us to use the city council chambers room. The pastors said it had been over 4 years since the last attempt to gather the city's churches together. 19 pastors came and afterwards we enjoyed coffee and fellowship time together. We are working to lay the foundation for a one-night pastors gathering called "Leaders on Fire" that we are sponsoring during the missions week. (See photo Below)  Please be praying for this, we would love to see 75+ churches get involved for this event.

Above two photos: We called for a meeting with local pastors in the Monte Carlo Neighborhood where the soccer field is. Two local pastors came out of 7 in the area. The neighborhood people said the pastors were too embarrassed to come meet the Americans, because they are poor. A little into the meeting more local people began to show up. In the end, 10 people received Jesus as Lord and Savior. AMEN!  There was a city council woman was present at this gathering and she said that she felt such a presence of God in the room she did not have words. Looks like the Lord had a different agenda for this night than we did. AMAZING!

Above Photo: We were at the soccer field taking measurements and some of the locals came down to check us out. One guy said, "We are poor people, if you hang a light, it's more than what we have now. Anything you do here will be appreciated." I corrected this man telling him that "They are valuable and important. They are worth the best we can give, and that is how God sees them!" We believe this project will show God's love to a forgotten community.

3 Salvations 37 rededication's
3 various altar calls for prayer during this service

Message Preached: Before the Throne: To Him be all the Praise, Honor, Glory and Power!

Above two photos: What a powerful night this was. People coming to Christ and so many wonderful healings.

Above Photo: This night was marked by so many glorious things that the Lord had done! One testimony that stands out is quite amazing. Prior to the message, we had a time of prayer for healing in response to a specific word of knowledge about the healing of sciatic nerve pain. About 6 people came forward and all were healed. PRAISE GOD!

One of the women (above photo) was testifying about what the Lord did for her, she could not quite compose herself as she was taken back by a vision. She described that as she stood up front and the prayer of healing went forth, that she saw brilliant bright light, a radiance, and an angel in front but could not see the face because of the glow. She tried in her overwhelmed state to describe what words could not communicate. This was quite amazing because the message that the Lord gave for that night, which had not been preached yet, was about developing the Presence of God in our lives by living before the throne on God and reflecting His Glory. What a confirmation and manifestation of what the Lord was teaching us in this meeting.

Toward the end of the service we had a continued time of prayer for the sick. Jesus paid such a high price at the cross for not only our salvation but for healing and we should never feel ashamed or feel we don't have time to content for these things. Even though the night had passed so quickly and we were 3 /12 hours into service, we asked the pastor for a few more moments which he so graciously allowed. In this time, God did so many wonderful things. I'm so glad because many received a victory and healing at that moment!

One woman came forward to testify before the church and  said that the doctors told her there was nothing they could do anymore to help her. She had no cartilage left in her knees. She was bone on bone and was in great pain to stand and walk. We called a women out of the congregation to come lay hands on this woman's knee and pray, God did a great miracle! The woman with the bad knees began to walk, jump and bend with no pain or any limitations. Her excitement was electric. Then the woman we had called out to come up and pray for this woman's knees testified that she literally felt under her hand the knee growing and filling in as she was praying She said, she had never seen such a thing, God is so amazing!

Many wonderful healings...
A woman with diagnosed scoliosis from 4 years ago, healed
- A woman with ovarian cysts felt the fire of God touched her and declared healing
- A m an with two cysts on his neck testified they disappeared
- A girl with a herniated disc and leg pain testified she was healed
- Many more things the Lord did in this meeting that we honor Him for

Traveling sick is absolutely no fun!

I think on our last trip back from the states was the worst one for me so far. It took me forever to recoup and feel like I was back in the swing of things. While we were at the airport in Detroit waiting to board our next flight, I received a phone call from my doctor with some news. She told me some tests that I had done showed Hashimoto's Disease. Basically, my thyroid does not work, because my own immune system attacks it. For so long I've known something was wrong, but nothing I did seemed to work. At least for now, while I still pray for healing and have faith for it, I also can do my part in helping my body recover and function better. I'm looking forward to having more energy, digesting my food and sleeping well. I already see a miracle, because according to the tests, I really should at least feel a lot worse, and not able to do a lot of what I already do. PRAISE GOD FOR THAT! I'm looking forward to complete healing! If you could say a prayer of healing for me, that would be awesome!
As Mike has already said, we've been very busy preparing for a mission's week in the city of Campos do Jordão with a group coming from Church of the Harvest. Last week we had meeting after meeting, 11 in 3 days. Needless to say, we crashed and burned when we got home! I am so excited about the week, and so expectant for all that God has in store as we love on the people of that city! We've had so much favor on us so far, but we've also had a tough week of opposition. The enemy is a liar and he tries to do what he can to derail God's plans, but he won't succeed. Someone sent us a message that they were praying for us the other day, and it so happened to be right at the time we were dealing with a very unpleasant situation. Another person sent us a text with a scripture, that shed clear light onto the situation as well. Thank you for keeping us in prayer and for reaching out! We'd really appreciate your continued prayers for all work that we still need to do, for the mission's team, and for the week the team will be here.
Maybe in the future we will be able to host more trips and you can be a part of one too!
Much love,

Débora
