Bowling GCAC Champions!

Congratulations to the Varsity and JV Bowling Teams who won the
GCAC Bowling Championship on Saturday, January 28th!

Bandit Athletic News

Check out the monthly Athletic Schedule for Basketball & Bowling
as the winter season wraps up and come cheer on the Bandits!

Bowling: Bowling will go on to play at the  IHSA Regionals on   Saturday, February 4 at 9:00 am at Habetler Bowl. Come cheer them on!

Basketball: Basketball is hosting Fine Arts Basketball Night on Tuesday, February 7. The Resurrection Choir will perform the National Anthem and Orchesis will perform the halftime show during the Varsity game. Varsity game at 7:30 pm, JV at 6:15 pm, Freshman A at 5:00 pm &  Freshman B at  3:45 pm.

Winter Athletic Banquet

The  Winter Athletic Banquet for Basketball and Bowling will be  February 23.

Charity & Truth Gala Volunteers Needed

Parents - Are you a little crafty? Are you good at wrapping packages, working on signage and assembling baskets? If so, we need your help. The Charity & Truth Gala committee will be working on signs, baskets and centerpieces in the Res Development Office on the following days and times:

Gala Basket & Wine Donations 

Did Santa bring you something you don't need or can't use, or do you have lovely unused items around the house? Consider donating gift items to Res for our Charity & Truth Basket Raffle (non-seasonal items are preferred). We can also use  large empty baskets for our basket raffles. We are also happy to take donations of  theatre or athletic tickets and  restaurant or other gift certificates

Bring donations to the Main Office any time - your gift can be the gift that keeps on giving! We are also now taking donations of bottles of wine for our Gala Baskets. Please be sure to have someone 21 or older bring the wine directly to the Main Office as students are not allowed to bring in these donations.

Big Money Raffle

The  Big Money Raffle  will take place at the  Charity & Truth Gala  on 
February 25, 2017. Tickets are $50 and only 500 will be sold.

Juniors - Math ACT Geometry Review Workshop Series 
The Mathematics Department will offer an ACT Geometry Review Workshop series for juniors planning on taking the standardized test in 2017.   The spring ACT is offered at Resurrection on April 8, 2017.  
The series is free of charge and will be offered on four days, twice a day  before school and
during seminar on the following days:

Wed, February 8; Wed, February 15; Fri, February 24; and Thurs, March 2
  • Before school in room 122 (7:45-8:15 am)
  • During seminar B in room 128 (12-12:30 pm)
Attend any or all sessions.  Chromebooks and calculators will be needed.  Attendance will be taken, but registration is not required.  Each day is a different set of topics, and math teachers are offering their respective students extra credit for their attendance.

Ignite the Spirit Award

Congratulations to Resurrection sophomore Rachel Dietz '19 who has been named as a recipient of the Ignite the Spirit Don Fox Scholarship. Ignite the Spirit is a Chicago Fire Department charitable organization supporting the families of Chicago firefighters. The Don Fox Scholarship is awarded to two student athletes each year who excel in athletics and in the classroom.

Rachel Dietz is a Res Scholar, a participant in the Mother Celine Scholars Program, a member of Scrubs Club and a member of Key Club, a service organization.  At Resurrection she has been a member of both the tennis and lacrosse teams. Congratulations Rachel!

Join Resurrection faculty member Mr. Mike Longo in this adult Lenten spirituality course that will explore the construction of the Gospels in relationship to the historical Jesus.

Preparing for the 2017-18 School Year

2017-18 Registration

Freshmen, sophomores and juniors have received information about curriculum offerings and will receive placement recommendations on  February 13 and 15 The $200 registration fee for the 2017-18 school year is due by February 21 and students will receive instructions for online registration at class meetings on  February 23.  

Online registration for the Classes of 2020, 2019 and 2018 will open on February 23 and will close on March 3. Registration for the Class of 2021 will be in person at Resurrection on  March 6 beginning at  6:30 pm

ParentsYOUR Parent Connect account is the only one with the security clearance needed to access the online registration feature, not your daughter's. If you need your Parent Connect log in/password information, please contact Registrar Mary Kaye Ulczak at 773.775.6616 Ext. 127.

Tuition Assistance - FACTS Application Available

The application process for tuition assistance and scholarships begins in January of each year when the applications become available. The FACTS application is the application for tuition assistance and must be completed for any need-based scholarship opportunity as well.   FACTS applications are due back to the FACTS company before their March 31, 2017 deadline.

Presence Resurrection Medical Staff Scholarship
The Presence Resurrection Medical Staff Scholarship was established throught the generosity of the Presence Resurrection Medical Staff to acknowledge three deserving students with an interest in pursuing a healthcare profession.  Applicants must be current freshmen, sophomores or juniors in good standing, have an interest in pursuing a healthcare profession, demonstrate financial need and maintain a GPA of 3.0 out of a 4.0 point scale. Three $500 scholarships will be awarded.   Applications are due no later than February 27.

Other Scholarship Applications

Additional scholarship applications will be available beginning March 6, 2017 in the Main Office and on the school's website.  Scholarship applications are due no later than Monday, April 3, 2017. Both the scholarship awards and tuition assistance will be announced by the beginning of June.

"Feed My Starving Children" Volunteer Opportunity

All Resurrection students and families are invited to join the Resurrection National Honor Society on Saturday, April 1, 2017 to package meals at the " Feed My Starving Children " location in Libertyville.
