The 2018 San Francisco Summer Resource Fair will take place on Saturday, March 10 from 11am to 3pm at the County Fair Building in Golden Gate Park.

The Summer Resource Fair will feature 150 exhibitors from organizations that offer summer programs, classes, camps, and other services for children and youth   ages 3-18 . The Summer Resource Fair is open to the public and is free to attend.  

We broke our attendance record at the 2017 Summer Resource Fair, and we intend to do it again this year! But we need your help: please spread the word about the Fair by sharing these links:

Results of 2018-2023 RFP/RFQ Released
On February 8 DCYF released the results of our 2018-2023 Request for Proposals and Request for Qualifications (RFP/Q). DCYF received 693 proposals from 248 agencies, requesting a total of $185.8 million in annual funding.  DCYF funded 294 proposals from 151 agencies for a total of $75.4 million annually . Current DCYF Grantees: Applications Open for DCYF Opportunity Fund
The DCYF Opportunity Fund addresses  unexpected, unbudgeted needs that arise during the course of a normal funding cycle . The Opportunity Fund is only open to current DCYF grantees, and funds may only be used for one-time projects.

Registration Open for Mayor's Youth Jobs+ Resource Fair
Youth ages 16-24 are invited to register for the annual Mayor's Youth Jobs+ Resource Fair. Attendees will have the opportunity to work on their resumes, get job search advice, and learn how to ace a job interview. Best of all: there will be  employers interviewing and hiring on the spot ! The Fair will take place on  Saturday, March 17 from 10am to 3pm  at the Hilton Union Square. 
Sign Up Your Group for Youth Advocacy Day
During Youth Advocacy Day, 200 San Francisco high school students will come together to exchange ideas with one another, advocate on behalf of their communities by speaking directly with City and school district officials, and learn about and register for programs and resources specifically for San Francisco youth. Youth Advocacy Day 2018 will take place on  Thursday, April 26 from 8:30am to 4pm.  Nonprofit organizations and school groups are invited to register up to ten high-school aged youth to attend Youth Advocacy Day. Registration for Youth Advocacy Day is on a first come, first served basis, so please register your group as early as possible.

DCYF and our Technical Assistance and Capacity Building partners are offering a wide variety of  workshops, classes, and cohorts over the next few months. Be sure to visit the Technical Assistance and Capacity Building page on our website regularly to find out what we're offering and to register for training and capacity building sessions.
Registration Open for San Francisco Family Wealth Forum
Assessor Carmen Chu is bringing back - by popular demand! - her Office’s community event to help San Francisco families build their financial futures: the Family Wealth Forum. Often when speaking with community members, Assessor Chu receives questions about estate planning and passing on a family's most valuable asset, their home. In response, she created the Family Wealth Forum as a one-stop shop to answer those questions, offering multilingual workshops, one-on-one counseling with experts, and a variety of informative vendors.  The Family Wealth Forum will take place on Saturday, March 24th from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm at Lincoln High School , 2162 24th Avenue. Be sure to say hello at the DCYF table!

Summer is coming up fast, and many of our grantees are actively hiring staff to help support their programs. Visit the Employment Opportunities page on our website for a list of our grantees and partners that are looking for quality staff!

SF Youth Commission Recruiting for 2018-2019 Term
The  S an Francisco Youth Commissio n   is recruiting Youth Commissioners for the 2018-2019 term!

The SF Youth Commission is a body of 17 San Franciscans between the ages of 12 and 23 who are responsible for advising the Board of Supervisors and Mayor on policies affecting young people. The Youth Commission is also charged with providing comment and recommendation on all proposed laws that would primarily affect youth before the Board takes final action.

Applications are due by April 20.
Next OAC Meeting: March 12
The next meeting of the Children and Youth Fund Oversight & Advisory Committee (OAC) will take place on Monday, March 12 at 6pm at the DCYF office, 1390 Market, Suite 900. All meetings of the OAC are open to the public.
