The News
feb18barbaraCongratulations, Barbara!

feb18springshowSpring Member Show

Yes!  A Spring Member Show!  Thanks to Julia Swain's hard work and persistence, we are scheduled to have our Spring Member Show at the Government Center from April 16 through 20.  And she's found a judge - Margot Schulzke.  Julia has also scheduled our Fall show.  It will be October 15 through 19, also at the Government Center, and the judge will be Judy Knott.  I think I speak for many when I say how much I have missed these shows and am really looking forward to having them again.  And it's all because of Julia's persistence - thank you, Julia!

feb18paintoutFebruary Paint-Out

The February paint out will be Tuesday, February 20 from 9am to 1pm.  More details will be available by e-mail, so if you-re not currently on her paint-out e-mail list, please get in touch with her so she can add you to the list.  Her e-mail is vgreenwood1@aol.com.

feb18membershipRenew Your Membership Now!

If you haven't already done so, please renew your PAA membership today.  PAA depends on your membership dues to cover our basic expenses such as insurance, renting the meeting room, compensating our guest presenters, and so on.  Without your dues, the club can't survive.  To renew, print out the membership form found here, fill it out, and send it with your dues check to the address on the form.  Also, please consider including a donation to our Community Outreach Fund which provides funds to our local high schools.

feb18challengeChallenge for February

Get out your paints, pencils, clay, and whatever for our February challenge.  Be inspired by your favorite artist and create a piece borrowing his/her style, color palette, subject matter, composition, choice of subject, or whatever you find particularly appealing about that artist.

Then bring your piece to the February meeting to share.  Can't wait to see what you bring!

feb18aotdNews from Art On the Divide Gallery

Art On the Divide Gallery is pleased to show the artwork of Guest Artist, Tracey Sirbello during the month of February. Please join us as we welcome Tracey and host a reception in her honor, February 11th from 2-4. Enjoy art and refreshments.

"4 Legs and a Tail", showing February 2-25th, is descriptive of the art that you will experience, but the art goes much deeper than that. Tracey has a love of animals and shares that "she has always understood animals better than people". She captures the personality of each individual, whether domesticated or wild, and the finished piece makes you want to reach out and touch.

Art On the Divide Cooperative gallery is located at 6295 Main Street, Georgetown. Winter hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday. For more information call 333-2787 (333-ARTS) or visit artonthedivide.com.

From the Editor
For several years I've so enjoyed participating in the open painting group.  We started meeting at Craft Castle in Cameron Park and have moved a few times since.  We're now meeting at the Church of Our Savior in Placerville on Thursday mornings from 10am to about 12:30pm.  There is a $5 fee which goes to the church.  And we enjoy lunch together (optional) afterwards.

We each bring our own projects and simply enjoy each other's company.  If you're free on Thursday mornings, you might enjoy the group.  Drop in a see what is' all about - we'd love to have you.
