February 11th 2019: For the past several months, we have been negotiating the terms of our agreements with Trinity Health (Trinity), which includes the following entities, as well as their professional providers, subsidiaries, affiliates, and divisions: Mercy Health System of Southeastern Pennsylvania, including Mercy Fitzgerald, Mercy Philadelphia, and Nazareth hospitals St. Mary Medical Center, including St. Mary Rehabilitation Hospital, Saint Francis Healthcare, including Saint Francis Hospital, Wilmington, Delaware. We continue to engage in good‑faith negotiations, but we want to explain how customers and members could be affected if we are unable to reach a new agreement by March 31, 2019. What is level funding self insurance?
People are asking!

Level funding is a relatively new way to handle self insurance for small groups. It works best when your group is younger or healthier demographic.

Because there have been so many questions we put together a sort, simple video.

What are PEO's??
Ed Doctor Hero Ben E Fitz
PEO's are relatively new to our area but are not new. A PEO is Professional Employer Organization. PEO's have their pros and cons like anything else.

PEO's are just recently started to realize the value of partnering with independent brokers and working with smaller businesses. As your independent broker, Total Benefit Solutions, Inc. can now impartially shop PEO partners when a PEO is a good fit for your organization and find the one that works best for you!

When you take your benefits to a PEO it is not as simple as just changing health insurance plans, most PEO's will be working with you on multiple levels including payroll, workers' compensation, retirement and much more. In fact your employees may even become their employees!

Many PEO's have a direct sales force and have been aggressively reaching out to employers in our area! Please ask us today about a PEO before you make any commitments to just one so we can compare multiple PEO's for you.
Demand for Supplemental Policies
is on the Rise!

Many Employers have been asking us about supplemental plans to help cover things such as copays, deductibles, maternity leave or missing work due to an accident or illness.

These benefits are insurance products employees can elect to add to their plans to fill gaps in health insurance to help with the costs associated with medical bills and missed time at work. Recently, we published an article on our blog regarding "Medical Bankruptcy" in America and how these plans have been vital in keeping people from losing their savings and homes while dealing with illness. You can find that post here .

Voluntary benefits are offered by employers but are paid mostly by employees through payroll. Offering Voluntary plans can also help small businesses in attracting and retaining top talent in today’s increasingly competitive market. For the top 3 reasons Employers across the country are offering these plans, please click here .
