From The Co-Presidents

Hi   ,

What a busy start to 2019! CPC has already launched a goodie bag campaign and planning is well underway for our inaugural  Colorado Night (21 March 2019, 5pm - 9 pm, Arnold Hall) and our  End of Year Celebration on Sunday, 7 April 2019, 3-6 - Blue and Silver Club at Falcon Stadium Press Box.  Committee chairs are also in the initial planning stages for our 2019 New Appointee Luncheon (15 June 2019 1-4 at Whirly Ball)  and our signature event the  I-day Picnic when we welcome the Class of 2023 and their families to USAFA (27 June 2019).  We are still actively needing volunteers for each of these important events.  Please reach out to the POCs below if you would like to get involved.  We can't sponsor these events without your support!

Colorado Night -   Jim and Nathalie Flannery

End of Year Celebration - Dan & Denise BruderDeVita Bruce

New Appointee Luncheon - CHAIR NEEDED!!! This is a great position for a 2022 family, as you are not far removed from this process and will know what details are important to include at this event.  (Initial plans have been made, please contact last year's chairs,  Jim and Nathalie Flannery,   for more details.)

I-day Picnic - many subcommittee chairs still needed.  We highly encourage Class of 2022 families to volunteer, as I-day is still fresh in your minds!  Please  contact the 2023 I-day picnic chairs,  Jim and Nathalie Flanneryto see how we can best utilize your time and talents

VALENTINE'S DAY GOODIE BAGS

As most of you know, our primary fundraiser (which funds the annual I-day picnic) is our Goodie Bag program. As a benefit of CPC membership, your cadet will receive a Spring Finals Goodie Bag.

Our Valentine's Day Goodie Bag campaign was a huge success!  We had a record number of volunteers and successfully filled and delivered nearly 1400 bags!  Thanks to our amazing Goodie Bag Team led by Donna Bajek (read more about her trio of superstars below) and all of our CPC members who showed up to help!

Above Left:  Donna Bajek briefs our amazing volunteers on how the day will go
Above Right:  volunteers set up our assembly line

Above Left:  our tagging crew ensures each goodie bag is properly labeled and gift cards are inserted
Above Right:  volunteers help load the truck for delivery to the squadron POCs

Consider ordering for cadets you sponsor, your cadet's roommate, or simply purchase an extra that can be donated to those cadets (identified by their AOC's) who need a little pick-me-up.

PLEASE NOTE: If you previously ordered the 3 Goodie Bag Value Pack, you do not need to place another order. Your cadet will receive their bag before Spring Finals. Thank you.

Get to Know Your CPC Board & Committee Chairs

Each month we will be introducing a new board or committee member, so our general membership can get to know the team that is working hard behind the scenes.  This month, meet your Goodie Bag Committee, Jennifer Hermann ('22), Michelle Huff ('20) and
Nico Mason ('22)

Above:  Goodie Bag Committee Members Jennifer Hermann, Nico Mason and Michele Huff

Jennifer Hermann is married to Paul and is the proud mom of two daughters.  Abby is a C/4C in CS 15, Hannah is a freshman at Palmer Ridge High School.  Jennifer is originally from North Dakota, but has called Colorado home since 1998.  In her free time, Jennifer enjoys attending AFA hockey, basketball and football games.

Nicoletta (Nico) is from Italy but has lived in Colorado Springs for 15 years.  She's married to Andre, who proudly served for 25 years in the Air Force.  They have two boys, Tommaso, who recently graduated from UCCS and is studying for the MCAT in hopes of going to medical school, and Michele who is a C/4C in CS 9.  Nico spends her time volunteering in many activities that support her family, and works in a middle school library.  She loves to hike and exercise.

Michele Huff and her husband, Greg, are originally from California, but moved to Colorado 3 1/2 years ago.  Their oldest son, Kyle is in the Air Force and stationed at Langley AFB, and their cadet, Dallas is a 2020er in CS 14.  Their daughter, Delainey, is a high school freshman.  Dallas is the captain of the new USAFA E-sports Team which is headed to Las Vegas for the Mountain West Conference Finals, March 15-16.  The Huff family  enjoys exploring Colorado, skiing & spending time with their family. The Huff family has helped with goodie bags for the past three years and this is Michelle's 2nd time coordinating the cadet points of contact in each squadron.  This is an important part of the goodie bag process, as we rely on squadron POCs to personally deliver all fo the bags we assemble.
