A Message from the Executive Director

First, I'd like to thank all of you who attended our 5th Anniversary celebration this month. More than 100 guests packed Willistead, including many entrepreneurial alumni. Many thanks to Odette, Law, and Alumni Association for co-hosting the event with us.
Over the past 2 years we've been fortunate to receive the wisdom and support of our EPIC Board of Advisors. I'm pleased to welcome two new members: Karolyn Hart, President/CoFounder of InspireHub, and Michael Chachula, President/Founder of Foursixty. Both bring significant knowledge and experience in tech startups and the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

I'd like to congratulate Nicole Anderson in her new position as Fundraising Officer for the Faculty of Law. Nicole was an important cofounder of EPICentre.

March will be packed with events and workshops, beginning this Friday with the Social Enterprise Summit, and continuing with outreach geared toward innovative idea generation, 'making', intellectual property literacy, female leadership, and charity capacity-building. We hope to see you involved!!

The summit will include:

  • Identifying, growing, and measuring social impacts in your business
  • The chance at networking with social enterprise thought leaders in the region
  • And of course, FREE breakfast and lunch
After the summit, you will be able to have a better understanding of social enterprises all around us, develop engaging discussions around social issues, and be given the tools and knowledge to make a difference in the community.
