GREAT BACKYARD BIRD COUNT

FEBRUARY 15 - 18

The Great Backyard Bird Count was the first online citizen-science project to collect data on wild birds and to display results in near real-time.

Over 20 years later, more than 160,000 people of all ages and walks of life worldwide join the four-day count each February. You can join the count, too! For at least 15 minutes on one or more days of the count, February 15-18, 2019, simply tally the numbers and kinds of birds you see. You can count from any location and enter your findings online in eBird. Add photos or even sounds to your entries!

Bird populations are in constant flux so counts like this and the Christmas Bird Count, Spring Bird Count, Fall Bird Count and weekly bluebird box monitoring here at Owl's Hill Nature Sanctuary give vital data to scientists at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.

At Owl's Hill Nature Sanctuary, we want to share an amazing world of wonder with your child. Here, nature is the guide and it leads us to crayfish in the creek, meeting animal friends and hiking in the woods. Includes a hot dog lunch on Friday

Dates: March 18 - 22

Time: 9am - 3pm

Cost: $270 for the 5-day week or $65 daily rate

Extended Care:

$45 per session/camper (A.M or P.M.)

$80 for combined extended care (A.M. + P.M.) per session/camper. No refunds.

Summer camp provides rewarding opportunities for campers to learn about Tennessee wildlife and the environment in a natural setting through games, hikes, exploration, crafts and live animal programs.Camp is limited in size so each child receives individual attention.

Registration includes a camp shirt, water bottle and daily snack. Campers bring a lunch Monday-Thursday. Camps include Friday hotdog lunch, ice cream desert and water games.
