Meet Shiela
Shiela has been participating in our Home at Last program since 2013, after experiencing homeless for over four years. After participating in our services for two years, Shiela was hired as a security guard and is now a Corporal at her company.

Shiela is currently working on getting her finances under control and achieving her life goals. In the future, she hopes to continue to be active in the workforce, thrive, and eventually purchase her own home.

A message from our Family Shelter
I am LaTisha Lawson, Program Manager at the Family Shelter. As we get going this New Year, we are working to improve our services. So with that in mind I’m focusing on setting in place what services we provide and how we deliver them to maximize the support we can offer to families. Stay tuned for an exciting year of things to come at the Family Shelter.

Our Emergency Family Shelter currently offers an array of services meant to support the Sacramento community. The facility has a partnership with Sacramento County DHA (Department of Human Assistance) to deliver services. We serve 17 families with children under the age of 18, 365 days a year. We offer temporarily housing, case management, and children services, for at least 50 residents each day.
