Ceremony kicks off Landa renovations

Comal County officially kicked off the renovation of its downtown New Braunfels courts buildings this month, holding a "Demolition Day" wallbreaking ceremony to celebrate the beginning of the project.
By the time the Landa Building (199 Main Plaza) and Annex (150 N. Seguin Ave.) are completed, the county will have a total of seven district and court-at-law courtrooms, as well as new and redesigned space for the County Clerk's, District Clerk's and District Attorney's offices, among others.

Deputies, constables rolling out citation software
|
Sheriff's deputies and constables have begun rolling out new e-citation devices, which should provide a quicker, more efficient experience – both at traffic stops and behind the scenes when records need to be uploaded. Training on the new devices took place in January, with field testing and ultimate rollout expected to continue through the spring.

Daily road maintenance plan
now available online
|
Commuters and other residents can now see the Comal County Road Department's daily road maintenance plan online in map form.

Steel-ing a peek at the new jail

In late January, crews building the new Comal County Jail began hoisting more than 15 tons of structural steel into place using a mammoth crane that towered over nearby Interstate 35.

Family protection fee application open through March 1
|
Service providers and nonprofit organizations are invited to apply for funds collected by Comal County through the family protection fee. The deadline is March 1.
|
|
County offices will be closed Feb. 18 for Presidents Day.
