February 2020 DFC Progress Report Announcement
We have exciting news to share! We have received final approval for changes to the DFC Progress Report and the February 2020 Progress Report will occur on time. Please read through the following sections for important information on the changes, upcoming trainings, and reporting deadlines.

What are the changes?
Much of the Progress Report is the same as previous versions! ONDCP has made changes to reduce burden on DFC grant recipients and will allow for better reporting of coalition work, emerging drug threats, and stronger outcome data. For the February 2020 Progress Report, approved minor wording changes and removed items will appear in DFC  Me . By August 2020, the progress report in DFC  Me will reflect all approved changes including new open-ended text fields for grant recipients to provide more detail on their work. There will also be new sections to provide information around addressing local drug crises such as opioids and vaping. The revised Progress Report and Core Measures Template can be found in the DFC  Me Learning Center, DFC Resources, and Featured Resources. The new, much shorter, Coalition Classification Tool Template, due annually in August, will be posted to the DFC  Me Learning Center soon.

Will there be Progress Report and Core Measures training webinars?
Yes! The DFC National Evaluation Team will be holding two training webinars. Webinars will include highlights of changes, tips and tricks to avoid common reporting mistakes, a demo of how to create and edit a Progress Report in DFC Me, and a question and answer session. Please register using the links provided below.

What coalition efforts will I need to submit in February 2020?
All DFC grant recipients are required to complete a progress report in DFC  Me . DFC grant recipients who have new core measure data (or baseline core measure data) or who have not submitted core measures data within two years will be required to submit core measures data in February 2020.  The table below shows the period of time for coalition efforts that you will include in your February 2020 Progress Report, depending on your grant year:

Year of Grant Funding
Report on all activities that took place between:
FY 2018
Year 5 or Year 10
February 1st, 2019 - End of grant funding
(typically September 30th, 2019 unless coalition received a no-cost extension)

This final Progress Report is needed to properly close-out your DFC grant.
FY 2019
DFC Continuation Awards
(Year 2-5 and Year 7-10)
February 1st, 2019 - January 31st, 2020
FY 2019
DFC New Awards (October Awards)
(Year 1 and Year 6)
October 30th, 2019 - January 31st, 2020
FY 2019
DFC New Awards (December Awards)
(Year 1 and Year 6)
December 31st, 2019 - January 31st, 2019

Reminder: Core Measures data is entered in the Core Measures section of DFC  Me and must be attached to a Progress Report in order to be successfully submitted. If you have questions on how to create and attach a core measures report, please see the tip sheet in the DFC  Me Learning Center or reach out to our team at dfc_evaluators@icf.com or (877) 854-0731.

When is my February 2020 Progress Report due?
The deadline for submission of the February 2020 Progress Report will be Wednesday, February 26th at 12:00 midnight EST . DFC grant recipients can begin submitting Progress Reports on Saturday, February 1st, 2020. DFC grant recipients are strongly encouraged to begin working on the progress report early and submit prior to the deadline.

Is there anything I can do right now?
The February 2020 Progress Report and Core Measures sections of DFC  Me are still unavailable as the final changes are being implemented. However, DFC grant recipients are strongly encouraged to submit core measures surveys as soon as possible so they can be reviewed before the upcoming reporting period. Surveys submitted after the start of the reporting period may not be reviewed in time to enter core measures data.  A step-by-step guide to submitting your survey is available for download in the DFC Me Learning Center's Resource Library.

Please reach out to the DFC National Evaluation Team if you have any questions about DFC Me or progress reporting requirements at dfc_evaluators@icf.com or (877) 854-0731.
