Anne Braden Commemoration
Civil Rights activist and advocate for racial equality, Anne McCarty Braden, will be commemorated in an event held at St. George's Episcopal Church on Saturday, March 7th.

Invitation Into Prayers for Racial Healing During Lent
The Racial Reconciliation Task Force of the Diocese of Kentucky is inviting each congregation in the Diocese to participate with us in 40 Days of Prayer for racial healing during Lent. There are two ways you can participate. At convention, hopefully your congregation received your three free copies of 40 Days of Prayer: For the Liberation of American Descendants of Slavery, written by Cheri Mills and published by Simmons College of Kentucky. You can purchase more books
here to form a Sunday School reflection group using the text during lent.
We also have received special permission to use excerpts from the book to print bulletins for each congregation in the Diocese. Those have been formatted and provided for you
here. You can download them to print for your bulletins to use the five Sundays during lent. We hope the information and prayers may be informative, challenging, and healing. Please let us know if you have any questions, and we hope this experience will be a growth experience for individuals, congregations and the Diocese as we prepare for our first intergenerational pilgrimage and dive deeper into work around racial healing.

Racial Reconciliation Pilgrimage
The racial reconciliation pilgrimage to the National Memorial for Peace and Justice in Montgomery, Alabama will take place May 5th through 8th. More details will be announced as they become available.

Registrations for Children and Youth Diocesan Events
Introducing the NEW registration process! We have moved to a new platform which should make registering for events simpler. The new site can be accessed
here.
The first time you use the new site, you will need to sign up. Once you’ve signed up you can then register multiple people. (multiple participants)
When you begin the registration process, based on your child’s age, the events your child can attend will be listed. You may register for just one or all of them at the same time.
You will also need to fill out a health profile for each participant. Once the health profile is completed it will only need to be updated once per year.
Payment can be made in full at the time of registrations by credit card or electronic check. There is also the ability to set up a payment plan. Scholarship requests are still available and can be downloaded from the site.
You may also choose to purchase “Campgrams.” They are $.50 a piece and will be distributed daily as mail if you choose to purchase and send one.

Spring Gathering—Why? (March 20-22)
Join other youth in the Diocese for a weekend of fun, fellowship and formation. We will welcome the sixth graders as we say goodbye to the seniors—both groups are beginning something new in their lives. How do you embrace the future even when it’s not what you want or expect it to be?
Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Raisin' the Rent!
March 7, 2020 at the Mellwood Art Center. The 14th annual benefit for the St. John Center for Homeless Men is one of Louisville’s premier community wide event. It carries on the traditions from the 1920’s Harlem Rent Parties, when the local community would come together for a party to raise rent for their neighbors. Fish Fry Fridays
Lent begins this year on February 26, so mark your calendar for February 28th; the kick off of Friday Fish Frys at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 2822 Frankfort Ave. in Crescent Hill.
Each Friday during Lent from 5:30 pm -7:30 pm, come and enjoy not only mouth-watering fried fish but also, smoked salmon, green beans, mac n cheese, cole slaw, hush puppies, clam chowder and an array of homemade desserts. Eat in or take out. It’s great food and lots of fun
