Juniors Wishing to Add Essay to SAT Exam Must Do So By Feb. 18
Loveland High School will be administering the Colorado SAT exam to all juniors on Tuesday, April 14, 2020. Two versions of the SAT will be given on this date, one with an essay and one without the essay. The essay is an additional 50-minute writing section added to the full-length SAT.
All juniors at Loveland High School are already registered for the SAT, and the default registration is for the non-essay version of the test. Students must opt-in if they wish to complete the SAT with Essay. If you would like to add the essay to your registration before the statewide deadline of Tuesday, February 18: Counselors will be in computer lab/room 122 on Tuesday, February 4th during lunch to assist with registration.
If you are unable to attend, or if you would like to add the essay on your own, click here for directions for adding the essay to your registration (see right side of page). Once again, as noted on the document, the February 18 deadline applies for all students in Colorado.
To view a national list of colleges and universities that recommend or require the essay for admission, please visit the following link:  sat.org/COessaypolicy . Please note that there are not any colleges/universities in Colorado requiring the SAT w/Essay for admission. Colorado School of Mines and the United States Air Force Academy are the only in-state institutions currently recommending that students complete the SAT w/Essay.
If you have any questions, please see Mr. Cain in the counseling office or email him prior to the February 18 deadline. Mr. Cain can be reached at  [email protected] .
