"Give Them Roots and Create Wings"

February 2020 - News Update
Thank You for your Generosity, Support and Impact!
In 2019, our partnership churches, as well as our volunteers and donors, made a tremendous difference for 138 families with children experiencing homelessness or at-risk of homelessness in our community.

EPH was blessed through so many gifts of service, prayer and financial gifts. We have received thanks from our families in the form of letters, words, smiles and hugs.

We’ve provided transitional housing since our inception, long-term supportive housing for several years and increased our focus in 2019 on our Prevention program to help impede homelessness and the trauma of eviction.

Look for our newsletter this month and our annual letter and brochure mailing in March for more information. Thank you for your generosity, support and impact in 2019. We look forward to our partnership in 2020 and the difference we continue to make together!
R etirement Congratulations to Ted Pagles and Bob Nitka
Long-time EPH maintenance staff employees Ted Pagels and Bob Nitka announced their retirements. Ted’s last official day was December 31 st , and Bob is finishing up work on one of our homes with his last day being sometime later this month. Bob plans to continue volunteering with EPH.

Both began their work at EPH as volunteers and have been dedicated staff members. We could not have prepared and maintained our EPH homes without them! Join me in thanking them both for their service to our families and living the EPH Core Values.

“I would be remiss if I did not formally thank those fellow employees, mainly those volunteers who I have worked alongside since my first day as a volunteer,” Ted said. Bob added, “I’m here to serve. This is something I truly believe and will continue to do as long as I can.” Bob further referenced 1 Peter 4:10 and Galatians 5:13.

Introducing EPH Office Manager Wendy Nasgovitz
We are blessed to welcome Wendy Nasgovitz as our new Office Manager. Wendy comes to EPH with a background in multiple fields that God has gifted her with.

She has a teaching degree from UWGB which has allowed her to homeschool/virtual school her three sons. A love for numbers and math, she returned to school in 2014 and attained her associate degree in Accounting from NWTC. Working in the accounting field led to property management which led to maintenance and eventually being self-employed with her own business as a licensed contractor.

Now she is honored to be a part of the EPH staff. With a servant heart, Wendy is excited to use all the skills that she has acquired to carry out not only EPH’s mission, but God’s as well.
Welcome Craig Hussin

We are pleased to Welcome Craig Hussin, EPH Maintenance Supervisor. Craig comes to EPH from Oak Park Place Assisted Living, where he was the Maintenance Director.  He enjoys the daily challenges that are associated with the day to day responsibilities of the position.

Always wanting to learn new tasks to add to his skill set, Craig brings a broad background with him.

Craig and his wife Terry have two grown sons, live in east Green Bay, and are members of St. Phillip the Apostle Church.  In his spare time, he enjoys home projects, loves to golf, and being a grandparent.
Volunteer Opportunity: Furniture Coordinator

EPH is truly blessed with donations. When offers of items are received, we do our best to accept them and have them stored in our warehouse, or at times, delivered directly to one of our homes.  We are looking volunteers who:

  • Have a vehicle with a hitch to pull a trailer. (EPH provides two trailers. One is enclosed and the other is open, along with both upright and flat dollies, straps, and tarps.)

  •  Are willing to pick up donations and drop off.

  •  Are willing to help families who at times, need furniture or appliances replaced. Designated items would then be picked up at the warehouse and delivered to the unit.

  •  Are able to dispose of old or unusable items by taking them to the Brown County Transfer Station.
