Serving Up Local Webinar Recording On February 11th, our Serving Up Local II: An Economic Analysis webinar series continued with the Canadian Society of Nutrition Managers. A recording of the webinar is now accessible here. Hear from Soni Craik Christie with an update on the Serving Up Local II project, which brought together Marianne Katusin, Manager of Support Services at Halton Healthcare, and Dan Munshaw, Manager of Supply Management at the City of Thunder Bay. They share how they boldly used inspired food system visioning; empowered food service and distribution contracts; and improved protocols on food category tracking to transform their food systems in Ontario hospitals and long-term care.

Canada Healthy Communities Initiative

The Canada Healthy Communities Initiative is currently accepting its first intake of applications. The initiative from the Government of Canada, Community Foundations of Canada and the Canadian Urban Institute is aimed at transforming public spaces in response to COVID-19. Eligible projects include expanding community gardens and farmers’ markets to increase access to healthy and affordable food. Learn more here.
