Advocacy Campaign Asking GOA for Safe Reopening Plan |

The Airdrie Chamber continues to advocate to the Government of Alberta asking for answers on when all small businesses will be able to reopen safely during such uncertain times.
Our "face of business" video will be shared with the GOA and on social media platforms along with an advocacy letter campaign. Please sign the following advocacy letter, or if you prefer, send your own letter to info@airdriechamber.ab.ca by Monday, February 1st.

COVID-19 Updates and Support |

Mandatory, province-wide restrictions remain in effect. Continue to follow public health restrictions to protect others as well as the health-care system. Active case numbers are decreasing, but hospitalizations remain high. More information.
Alberta’s government expanded its relaunch grant to ensure new businesses have access to the supports they need. New Alberta businesses impacted by public health orders will need to demonstrate a 30 percent reduction of revenue using revenue figures from November or December 2020 compared with any prior month between March to October 2020. The payment is 15 percent of their monthly revenue, for a maximum of $15,000 in funding available for each business. Read more.
All Albertans, businesses, organizations and service providers must continue to follow all other existing health measures, ensuring the safety of Albertans, while balancing the uncertainty faced by Alberta businesses and service providers. Read more.
Canadians will begin receiving T4A slips from the CRA for the Canada Emergency Response Benefit, Canada Emergency Student Benefit, Canada Recovery Benefit, Canada Recovery Sickness Benefit and the Canada Recovery Caregiving Benefit to support their tax filing. The T4A is virtually identical to the T4 slips Canadians are used to receiving from their employers, but rather than employment income, they provide the amounts of COVID-19 benefits received from the CRA in 2020. If you have questions about the slip, including if you think there may be a mistake or have received it in error, please contact the CRA by phone at 1-800-959-8281.

Transform Your Stress - Online Workshop |

Stress affects people physically, mentally and emotionally. Many Albertans have identified feeling stressed with the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic. This introductory course includes a basic discussion of stress plus looks at different ways to manage stress, including 2 HeartMath® breathing techniques.
Led by AHS Certified professionals, this interactive workshop will:
1. Discuss the stress response;
2. Identify warning signs of stress;
3. Help participants make an action plan to address their own stress;
4. Review how emotions impact the body, brain, and overall health;
5. Demonstrate 2 practical stress-relieving breathing techniques;
6. Discuss how resilience can be enhanced through regular use of the breathing tools.

Heart Airdrie Masks to Promote Retail Sales |
|
Continuing on with our supporting local "Wear it Proud" campaign, the Airdrie Chamber has ordered a limited quantity of free Heart Airdrie masks to give to retail members to help drive sales at their business and promote the shop local movement.
Participating retailers can give away masks with purchases from their location and create their own terms such as a minimum purchase of $20, one per customer, etc.
We ask that you promote and share the campaign at your place of business and through your social media accounts in advance and during the campaign. Take photos of the masks, people wearing the masks and tag @airdriechamber. Have fun with it! ❤️
If your business would like to get involved, fill out the below online form by Monday, February 1st and we will contact you to arrange delivery by February 12th. Masks will be distributed on a first come first serve basis to up to 15 Airdrie Chamber members.

Located at #2109 – 109 Gateway Drive (neighboring their current 28 Gateway space), leaseairdrie.com is offering a unique rental model to help support their tenants. Instead of the typical triple net rent upon which most commercial leases are based they operate on a fixed gross rental model. As a tenant there are no surprises when it comes to what your monthly bills will be. They offer a fixed rent rate which includes all utilities, repairs, maintenance, cleaning of common areas, property taxes, etc. You are simply required to pay for your rent, insurance as a tenant and your own internet.This simple model allows for easier budgeting and cash management for our tenants.
See below proposed layout for the space; however, they will be using DIRTT demountable wall systems, which allows to customize the space for their tenants at the time of occupancy. The second floor is completely open and encompasses almost 800 square feet of fully customizable space. Rates range based upon the actual office size and term of the agreement.
The 2109 project includes shared washrooms and kitchenette spaces and is prepped for the installation of a washer and dryer should a tenant require those services. Ideal tenants for this space would include professional services offices. It's a great shared space for anyone wanting to get out of their home and make the move to a professional business setting.
