The Landings Art Association
Announces its
February 2021 Art Exhibit
featuring Artist of the Month
Diane Gannon
LAA/Sound View Palmetto Gallery
February 1 – March 2
The Landings Art Association invites you to the LAA/Sound View Gallery at the Palmetto Club from February 1 through March 2 to see the latest works by Artist of the Month, Diane Gannon.
Originally from Rochester, NY, photographer Diane Gannon spent 34 years with Eastman Kodak before retiring to Savannah with her husband Dave. An avid traveler, her passion for wildlife photography was sparked during her first trip to Africa. Four cameras and many trips later, Diane now focuses mainly on photographing birds.
Locally, she spends time patiently searching the Savannah Wild Life Refuge, Skidaway Island State Park and the Sparrow Fields at The Landings for her next subjects.
Diane prints her work on notecards and gallery wraps (photographs printed on canvas), and she has created unique 3-D collages in which she uses multiple images layered within a frame. For this particular show, however, Diane has chosen to focus on small photographs, featuring mostly birds, printed on canvas. These gallery wraps will all be done in small sizes (4” x 4”, 6” x 6”, etc.) that can fit anywhere: on a shelf, hung in a small space or on a window sill. The bluebird in the photograph that accompanies this article is one of the many new birds that will be featured.
Our opening receptions are still on hold, however, the LAA art exhibits at the Palmetto Club Gallery continue to showcase the work of our very talented artists. Be sure to wander over to the club this month to see what everyone has been up to.
