VOLUNTEER UPDATES
High Fives for Habitat High!

Volunteers from Summit High School braved the icy winds and worked harder than ever to help us install siding, caulk trim and get a lovely first coat of paint on Miss Shirley's future home!

The day was a huge success and couldn't have happened without the amazing volunteers from Summit HS!
Vanderbilt.... Vander-BUILT

Students from Vanderbilt University spent the past two Saturdays helping us build the future home for Miss Shirley Wilson.

These volunteers went above and beyond to learn new skills on the build site, take leadership on our projects, and offer a "hand up" to a future homeowner!
GOVERNOR'S VOLUNTEER STAR AWARD
Habitat for Humanity Williamson-Maury was one of three nonprofits in TN honored at the 14th annual Governor's Volunteer Stars Awards!
Thank you to all our crew leaders, volunteers, staff and partners for your commitment to serving HFHWM and our community!

You are the true shining stars that allow us to succeed.
MEET OUR NEW DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
Introducing our newest Director of Development, Cathy McCarthy!

She recently relocated to the Nashville area from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida where she spent more than 17 years in the nonprofit industry.

Cathy spent 5 years as the Director of Sales and Marketing for several major golf resorts, before she transitioned into the nonprofit development community with the National MS Society.
In this role, she was responsible for producing the annual 2-day “Breakaway to Key Largo” cycling event, which she took to the highest level of participation and revenue with over 3,000 cyclists and $2.35 million raised.

Throughout her career, Cathy has led as the Executive Director of the Ft. Lauderdale/Miami affiliate of Susan G. Komen and served on the Board of Directors at the Russell Reading Foundation for 18 years. She was then asked to step into the role of Executive Director, where she expanded their events to add a turkey trot walk/run, partnered with the American Cornhole League for their National Championship on ESPN, and helped secure a $50K NFL grant for the organization.

Cathy relocated here to be closer to family and spends a lot of time after work with her grandkids and going to their activities. She is an avid sports fan (especially football) and is hoping to find a tennis and golf league to join in the spring. Besides proximity to family, the best thing about this area is it reminds her of growing up in North Carolina, especially the great food and country music! Welcome to the team, Cathy!
JOIN OUR HOMEOWNER SELECTION COMMITTEE
We are seeking local individuals to join our Homeowner Selection Committee. These volunteers have the important task of interviewing applicants, conducting home visits, and reviewing applications to help us select our future homebuyers.

Volunteers are asked to attend a meeting and at least one home visit a quarter. We will hold an informational meeting in March for anyone interested in learning more.
Please contact Jennee Galland at 615-550-5617 if you would like to attend!
