February 2021 Newsletter
Greetings,
We hope you and your families are healthy and doing well. February sure has been hitting us hard with a lot of snow and ice. On top of the restrictions due to COVID, we’ve had additional cancellations, postponements and delays because of the weather. It’s been just about a year now that everything changed. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel. The days are getting longer and spring is about a month away. Before you know it, the trees will be budding out and spring flowers will be revealing themselves.

Businesses are still opening and we congratulate Tiffany Wienckowski owner of Servpro of Freeport/Roosevelt. We hosted a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for them on Tuesday February 9th. Also, Ana Sanchez of Come to Love Yourself Spa, which will be opening soon. This is such a positive sign of the tenacity and fortitude of people investing in their future and the community.

On February 1st the Chamber has moved. Our new office is now at 11 Richmond Street. (down at the end of Woodcleft Ave.) The Seabreeze Building. Our telephone # is still the same 516-223-8840. If you did try to call, we were having some issues with the phone company, but everything is now up and running. Thank you to Hayden Fox for helping me pack up. Thank you to member, John J.Jutt of MinuteMan Press for typesetting our new address on our letterhead and making it look fabulous. Thank you, Tom Dipolito our Treasurer of Trius Electric, for hooking up our phone lines, Ben Jackson our 1st Vice President of Ben’s General Contracting, for helping us with the heavy lifting, and Jenny Jorge our President of Gala Foods, for boxes and your help. As with any move, there are glitches that needed to be solved.

If you would like to stop by and say hello, please call and make an appointment. We would be happy to see you and discuss any concerns you might have. At our next board meeting, we will be discussing projects and brainstorming ways to help Freeport attract more business, so everyone can benefit from them. So, stay tuned as we move forward with optimism and brighter times.
