Jill's Vision for February 2021:
LOVE
Thoughts...

Where else, how else, might you choose love?
This is what I'm asking myself this month.

Love doesn't have to be mushy or waxing philosophical.

Love can look like:

  • An extra hug to your kids when they are navigating school the way it is these days. (Even when they push you away or say they're fine--please know they need you, now more than ever, to notice them and the way they are feeling.)

  • An extra hug, kind word or moment you take with a difficult spouse, partner, friend or family member who is dealing with everything in his/her own way that might be different than yours.

  • Creating boundaries with people who pull from you on a consistent basis, who truly might not have your best interests at heart, is loving yourself. It's loving yourself enough to take space, create a space, as often as you need to.

  • Self-care at the end of the day to focus on what was good, what felt right, what felt different and deciding more of what you want in the contrast is love of self. Self-care each day, taking time for you--a few minutes, an hour, an afternoon or a full day. Whenever the schedule allows, make time for you. This is love. If you're happy, the world looks and feels happier.

  • Allowing things to unfold with a smile, with peace in your heart. This is love for the process, in the trusting of things to play out as they need to, honoring the chaos in the disorder. This is love of the present moment.

  • Sending a person, a situation, a community, the world, some light and love each and every day through prayer and meditation, this is love, extra love that we all have to give, that we all have to share. If you've ever been the recipient of that kind of love--the best, quiet and all-powerful kind--you know how massive that can be.

Love comes in various ways: in pieces of time, in pouches of conversation, in perfectly-wrapped packages of understanding and validation.

Where can you bring a little more love into your life this month--both for yourself and for others?

A little goes a long way, and it ends up making you feel good too.

"If you want love, learn to give love...If you want to be blessed with all the good things in life, learn to silently bless everyone with all the good things in life....The more you give, the more you receive." Deepak Chopra

Enjoy February...Happy Valentine's Day!

What we're reading this month and why you should too...

BadAss Habits
by Jen Sincero

Read Sincero's latest BadAss book to help you stick with your New Year's routines, and have some laughter along the way.

Some quotes from the book:

"One of the premier causes of unnecessary drama is bad boundaries." (Amen.)

"Changing your habits and your boundaries takes courage, audacity, and a whole lot of self-love."

"Our thoughts become our words, our words become our beliefs, our beliefs become our habits, and our habits become our realities."

And one of my favorites:
"What a relief it is when someone tells you exactly what's on their mind, what they need and what they're available for."

BadAss Habits gets to the core of transformation: Habits.

February 2021 Sun/Moon Horoscope for All Signs

February 2021

New Moon in Aquarius (conjunct Sun in Aquarius) February 11th:
Aquarius is an unattached air sign that helps us raise our perspective and observe life through a non-emotional lens as well as disengage from any situations hindering our growth. Use this lunation to visualize a fresh outlook, and be prepared when next steps may come in flashes of genius insight, epiphanies or unexpected breaks. This New Moon is a good time for a reinvention of self, to start new ventures and for anything entrepreneurial. Aquarius determination will provide the wherewithal and longevity to see through long-term goals, providing the wings for our hopes and dreams to take off.  Birds of a feather do stick together, so be open to authentic connections with those of shared values or opportunities to join larger causes.

Full Moon in Virgo (opposing Sun in Pisces) February 27th:
Virgo is concerned with reliability and improving quality of life for self and others via day to day work. With the Full Moon there will be a high level of emotional attention to details, so tune it to take mental stock and ensure all the areas of your life are in order. Like any good editor, Virgo urges us to review, tweak and polish our routines as well as make more health-conscience decisions including having healthy boundaries with others. Luckily it is a transitional energy which can help with shifts in behavior, changes in habits and improved self-care. Productive and pure, Virgo suggests fulfillment and empowerment are found through organization, cleaning, and purging.  Letting go is healing…and practical!

The Moon represents our instinct; the ability to know through feeling.  It is our inner self and represents all we need to feel nurtured and emotionally secure.  With every month’s lunar cycles, we have the opportunity to look within to assess our wants, needs, and emotional well-being.

The Homeopathic remedy you could be using...

Silica

  • "The surgeon’s remedy” because it’s known to literally push things out of the body--think splinters and ingrown nails. (Do not use after a surgery involving drains as they will be pushed out.)

  • Was known for years as a protection against bad effects of vaccinations, particularly the DPT vaccination (known today as Dtap.) Can be used after any vaccination. (Jill's note: I always give to my family after vaccinations of any kind).

  • Known to help scoliosis. (Do not attempt this at home; should be done through a consultation with a professional homeopath.)

  • Great for white spots and/or brittle nails. (Seeing a theme here? Nails, bones, think structural help.)

  • And to help on an emotional level for those exhibiting shyness, timidity--needs support, extra nudging; i.e. little ones new to school, first-time jitters for stage performances, hides behind parents when meeting new people. (Jill's note: I like using Silica at the end of an intense work day).

For more information or to schedule a FREE 15-minute consult as to why homeopathy might be a great healing tool for you or your family during this time, please contact me HERE.

Essential oils you need to know about...

Thieves essential oil

Thieves is a popular oil blend for winter. It fills any space with a warm, spicy aroma and is also the go-to for cleaning and promoting a strong immune system.

Best usages:
  • One drop daily under the tongue, bottom of foot or added to tea to build immunity

  • Diffuse in any room to destroy bacteria including Staph and inhibit growth of viruses

  • Gargling with warm water then swallowing to help relieve a sore throat

  • One drop topically to an annoying canker sore.

*A drop a day keeps the doctor away,
so order soon!

Dress to Express

If you don’t already have this in your wardrobe, you need it: it’s a coatigan! It resembles a cardigan but has the substance and functionality of a coat.
I am still loving the loungewear one-piece and/or two-piece paired with one of these coatigans. They are warm and comfy for sitting in front of the fire watching football or reading a book. These winter months can be so chilly, but layering your outfit enables you to make adjustments depending on your personal temperature.
I have found ideal sweater dresses at Target from the Wild Fable group with just the right amount of warmth for layering. Layer one of these dresses with a cream heart lightweight sweater from Shein (online and super inexpensive) and top it off with a sherpa camoflouge jacket from The Paper Store, completing the outfit with a pair of cream combat boots from H&M. Warm and cozy, yet professional.
And have fun with hair accessories. I love the thick headbands that can be paired with any outfit, especially fluffy boots!

Fitness
Commit.
Commit to your program.
No one is going to do it for you.

Whether it's hiking or walking or running or cycling, commit to at least 30 minutes each day with one or two rest days each week. Create a reward for yourself only when you have completed your routine for that day.

This makes is it easier to train your brain to stick with the regimen.

It also allows you to indulge yourself in something each day without depriving yourself of what you want to have-- something that after three weeks' or three months' time you are way more likely to bring back into your diet if it's under the guise of withholding.

Commit, DAILY, in Strength and Discipline to your goals and to your self.

There is much happening astrologically this month. We'll see several planets grouped together in the sign of Aquarius. This unique situation creates intense and expansive energy to start the new year with a focus on altruistic themes, technological advancements, and unconventional innovations and ideas, not to mention Mercury Retrograde occurring most of the month.

What does this mean for you personally and how to navigate this exciting/frenetic energy?
