As a diocean community we celebrate our reaching the goal of the West Louisville Now initiative. At the close of the 2021 calendar year we have raised the $200,000! Many important projects have been completed and more are currently underway and in the works well into 2022. Bishop White writes, “We celebrate the successful completion of the West Louisville Now capital campaign! With generous gifts from individuals and congregations across the diocese—as well as from the wider Episcopal Church—we have faithfully responded to Jesus’ call to love God with all our being and to love our neighbor as ourselves. The leadership of St. George’s and Our Merciful Saviour are already using these funds to address significant issues with their buildings as they do the gospel work of building God’s reign of love. Through the support of the WLN fund they can continue to provide food, clothing, youth enrichment opportunities, and more in their neighborhoods. We give thanks to God that our common baptismal commitment to strive for justice and peace, seeking and serving Christ in all persons, and respecting the freedom and dignity of every human being is being lived out in the ongoing work of these two congregations. Through WLN we took action to come alongside our fellow Episcopalians - for this I am grateful and celebrate this success with you all.”

“Without it we’d be in turmoil trying to raise this particular kind of money for these needed repairs. There is no way they would have been done without this support. Particularly the heating and cooling in the church was a great and very expense need. Our previous units were in the basement and inefficient, we now brought two units upstairs, replaced and installed ductwork, and they work great to heat and cool the space. We are getting new thermostats were we can control them from our smartphones or automatically set the temperature for our homes before we gather. We’ve replaced flooring in the sanctuary and prepared the space for the new HVAC unit. This Spring we’ll be working on replacing the roof in Dudley hall. The metal roof will be taken off and replaced and now a single that match the rest of building. We are also going to replace the cooling units on top of the building” - John Harris, Bishop’s Warden, OMS

“We have witnessed so many blessings within our community with regards to the West Louisville Now campaign, kicked off by the Diocese in the Summer of 2020. We have installed a new roof and repaired external stucco damage (RAM Roofing); a new HVAC system (Sterling Heating & Air); fixed the holes in the ceiling and walls in the Sacristy (Julius Schnurr & Son); assessed mold and other environmental contaminants (MicroAnalytics); painted the sanctuary (more to come in the Spring with McCoy Painting); and are presently in the initial restoration process of the gym (HDDS/Edison Construction).” - The Rev. For the past two years three members of St. Peter’s in Louisville, Peh Lu, John Hsar Kaw, and Mu Eh, have been part of an exciting program called "Karen Episcopal Ministry Formation.” Please join us in congratulating them on their completion of this exciting program. The Hoeft family at St. Peter’s are immigrants from Tonga. After news broke of the recent earthquake and tsunami in Tonga, our congregation was praying fervently for the safety of those affected by these natural disasters.

Fr. Finefonua (Fine) Hoeft, who is also an Anglican priest from Tonga licensed in our Diocese, was without news from his family and friends in Tonga for several days. He recently got news that his family is safe. Although his home island was affected by the tsunami, the

waters did not reach populated areas. Click here to read more.

On Tuesday, March 8th at 12 noon EST Christ Church Cathedral will live stream a special liturgy commemorating Anne Braden. More details about the live stream will be forthcoming.

The 193rd Convention of the Diocese of Kentucky, in resolution #4, prioritized the offering of the anti-racism training required for all ordained persons, professional staff, and those elected or appointed to committees, commissions, agencies, task forces, and boards in accordance Resolution 2000-B049 of The General Convention.

The Commission for Racial Healing is pleased to announce that workshops on Dismantling Racism are now be offered for clergy and laity within our diocese. The General Convention of the Episcopal Church has stipulated that all diocesan and parish leaders are required to participate in such training.

The training is an all day event offered from 9:30 EST(8:30 CST) until 3:30 EST (2:30 CST). To foster optimum learning and conversation, the number of persons will be limited.

The Kentucky Department of Public Health is currently reporting a 22.97% positivity rate for Covid-19. In response to this current rise in positivity we encourage clergy and lay leadership to adapt worship and ministries to assist in keeping their committees safe, including the following recommendations:

The Diocese will host a Congregational Leadership Conference via Zoom on Saturday, Feb. 26th from 10 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. ET (9 a.m. - 11 a.m. CT). Registration deadline is Monday, Feb. 21st.
