Greetings All,

We hope you and your families are healthy and doing well. Even though we are in the thick of winter, there is lots going on in the Chamber. First of all we are busy preparing for our yearly Installation Dinner/Dance and journal which we cancelled last year do to COVID. The good news is we are back on schedule and it will be held on Thursday May 19th. Please mark your calenders as the invitations and more details will be sent out shortly.

Our February luncheon at Hibiscus on the Mile was a great turn out. Thank you Donnetta Cumberbatch and Shawn Randall of the Police Benevolent Association for your talk and filling us in on how Freeport is keeping us all safer by bridging the gap between our residents and police. If you are intersted in having coffee with a cop, a program they developed. Appointments will be held on Tuesday March 15th betweeen the hours of 5:00 PM-6:30PM at the Freeport Memorial Library.

Our next luncheon is scheduled for Tuesday March 8th 12:30 at the Crab Shack on Woodcleft Ave. We will be sending out an announcement with more information next week.

We held two Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies this month. The first was for Staples of Freeport. Thank you to the manager Adam Cohen for always being so friendly and warm when we need any office supplies.

Then the second was at Cow Meadow Park as Mayor Robert Kennedy announced that the Village of Freeport has reclaimed this Park and major renovations are underway to beautify the property.

It is only 24 days till spring! It sure doesn’t feel that way. I want to thank all of the chamber members and directors for a very successful chamber year. We have decreased our costs while maintaining service and increased our reserves and membership. We have some exciting luncheons and dinners coming up and feel free to attend, even as a guest.

The Nassau Council of Chambers has given us a lot of home covid test kits. Feel free to reach out and we will arrange for you to get them. Hang in there the winter is almost over!

Best Wishes,
The Freeport Chamber
