February 2022 Newsletter
February Update

Four new Virtual Reality Tours, filmed throughout 2021 on mushrooms, veal and grain farms – and genomics research facilities operated by the University of Guelph – have been added to the FarmFood 360 website, joining the 18 farm and food processing tours already filmed and available for viewing.

At Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan, we take pride in our ability to engage with consumers on the facts about modern farming and ranching, but we know we can’t do it alone. One avenue that we’ve put considerable time and effort into is speaking to our future leaders: agriculture students.

Past Webinars
Today, less than 3% of Canadians have a direct link to the farm. It’s not surprising that people have so many questions about food and farming. Explore videos and courses to learn more about different aspects of farming and food production. Share these with your members!

Dr. Sara Place, Chief Sustainability Officer for Elanco Animal Health, discusses how grazing animals fit within a sustainable food system, and considers long-term sustainability, feed vs. food competition and climate change.

Clinton Monchuk, a third-generation Canadian farmer, discusses how precision agriculture has impacted the health and sustainability of today’s farms.
CanadianFoodFocus.org is a gathering place to tell our Canadian food and farming stories. We explore how food is grown and raised, share recipes and provide useful advice to help Canadian's make confident food choices.
Follow us and help us share content such as these articles with consumers.

Some plant breeding technologies are old, some are comparatively new, but they all help us adapt to challenges.

We asked Dawn Friesen, a production manager at Fast Genetics: ‘How many litters do pigs have in a year?’

Young people deserve to know where their food comes from; you can make it happen!
