PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Greetings NTMCA Members!
How can it already be February?! As I write this, I'm looking out on a cold North Texas wintery scene. I hope this message finds each of you warm and safe and that the cities you serve are faring well during this winter event.

2022 is off to a fast start. We have lots coming up in the new year - keep reading for upcoming events and opportunities with NTMCA!

Sincerely, Christine Green, President
January Athenian Dialogue - Recap
NTMCA hosted an Athenian Dialogue on January 12 in conjunction with the TMCCP Election Law Seminar at the Embassy Suites Denton Convention Center. Facilitator Mary Lynne Stratta led participants in a discussion of The Zookeeper's Wife by Diane Ackerman. Participants may earn TRMC recertification credit and IIMC education credit with completed learning assessment. Proceeds from the event benefit the NTMCA Alyce Deering Scholarship Fund.
L-R Tammy Dixon (Bartonville) and Victoria Raduechel (Fate)
L-R Marie Balthrop (Wichita Falls) and Christine Green (University Park)
Thank you to Denton-based law firm Hayes, Berry, White & Vanzant, LLP for their generous sponsorship of our Athenian Dialogue. This firm has been providing city and county governments throughout North Texas with sound legal counsel and representation for various legal matters since 1985.

Their sponsorship helped to underwrite NTMCA's costs to host the event and added to our Alyce Deering Scholarship fund that assists members with the costs of continuing education.
Popcorn!
NTMCA helped welcome attendees to the TMCCP Election Law Seminar by distributing popcorn bags. The cheese and butter-flavored snacks were a big hit with hungry clerks before the opening session and midday breaks!
NTMCA Monthly Meeting

Please join us on at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 16 as Trophy Club Town Secretary Leticia Vacek presents “Assessing Processes and Systems - for Simplification."

NTMCA Listserv is here!
The chapter listserv is up and running! This tool will assist members with research, questions, example documents and general help.

The NTMCA listserv will supplement the TMCA statewide Google group by gathering information from local city secretaries and serving as a resource for our chapter. You can choose how you receive emails—digest version or real time.

HOW THE LIST WORKS
When you send an email to ntmca@gaggle.email, every member of the list will get the email. That's all there is to it.
