SENIOR CHECKS Volunteer Bill Paying Assistants Needed!

The Bright Side Family is actively seeking volunteers for its new money management program for older residents who seek guidance and assistance in budgeting, routine bill paying, check writing and other financial tasks.

Teaneck Library Has New Director and New Browsing Rules
As of March 1, Teaneck Public Library will return to unrestricted browsing time and regular capacity.
Some in-person programs will resume as well, although staff and patrons will still be required to wear mask and socially distance while indoors.

New Bergen County Group for LGBTQ+ Older Adults
A new group affiliated with Bergen County LGBTQ Alliance is creating a space for 60+ LGBTQ+ Seniors to come together both in-person and on Zoom. The group meets on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at Rutherford Pancake House and on Zoom at 11:30am on the 3rd Friday of every month.

Bergen County Has a New Program to Help Struggling Seniors Get the Assistance They're Entitled To Receive
Through a new grant from the National Council on Aging, the Bergen County Division of Senior Services now has a Benefits Enrollment Center to help seniors living on a fixed income who struggle to pay living expenses.

Screeners check eligibility for Medicare Savings Programs, Medicaid, prescription assistance, food stamps, utility assistance, and more.

DSS calculates that Bergen County seniors could be missing out on $20 million each year in benefits!
