CONGRATULATIONS TO
RON RODERICK

FOR HIS ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS AN
ELITE HUNTER*

Altai Argali - Mongolia
Karaganda Argali - Kazakhstan
"I BECAME A CRAZED MOUNTAIN HUNTER"
Ron grew up in Iowa at a time when rabbits and squirrels were big game. After graduating from college, he moved his business to Colorado (eventually accumulating 12 patents in heat transfer technology) and was soon enjoying "big game, small game, waterfowl and upland bird hunting, fly fishing, mountain climbing and … some of the finest skiing in the world." After drawing a Bighorn Sheep tag, he became a crazed mountain hunter, including training by climbing 14,000 foot mountains and running marathons.

INTERNATIONAL SHEEP AND GOAT HUNTING
After his first international sheep hunt to Mongolia, Ron made a dozen trips to Russia and the old Soviet Union countries. Over the years, he accumulated over 40 species of sheep (the 4th hunter to ever do so) and, along the way, he has taken over 30 species of Goats/Ibex. He is one of only 8 hunters with a 40-30. Along the way, he became president of the International Sheep Hunter's Association which eventually merged with the Wild Sheep Foundation. He is recognized by GSCO for his 40-30 and their Triple Slam that includes the Grand Slam of North American Wild Sheep.

Shiraz Mouflon - Iran
"CHINA WAS MY FAVORITE ARGALI COUNTRY"
Ron made 11 trips to China from 1997 to 2006 and was able to collect 5 Argalis: the Sair, Tian Shan, Littledale, Gansu, and the rare Kuruktag. He lost 20 pounds on that Kuruktag hunt in the Uyger Atonomous Region, which is one of the largest deserts in the world (and he was in great condition to start!). He had the trophies shipped to Canada where molds were made of the horns and shipped to him in Colorado.

THE REST OF THE STORY

ADVENTURE WORLDWIDE Mountain game was his first love, but Ron has many others:

Hunting on Six Continents Ron doesn't measure or enter his trophies, but he has extensively hunted all 6 hunting continents and collected a wide variety of big game including over 100 species from Africa.

Fly Fishing "I take my fly rod on many international hunts as I consider fly fishing is hunting." Ron estimates that he has caught over 100 species of fish including at over 14,000 feet in Tajikistan while hunting Marco Polo; and 15-pound trout in the Andes while doing conservation photography for the Taruka Deer and Vicuna; and Golden Dorado while fly fishing the rivers of Bolivia; and Tiger Fish and many other species throughout Africa.

Bird Hunting "I usually took a shotgun on my international big game hunting trips." He has shot over 100 species of birds: waterfowl, upland (including most of the quail of the world), and he has the World Slam of Wild Turkeys.

Flying For business and fun, including on numerous hunting trips from North America to Central America, Ron has flown his own plane, accumulating a whopping 8,600 hours in the pilot seat!
Golden Dorado - Bolivia
