January came and went like a winter breeze. February is filled with a flurry of special occasions. From the significance of Black History Month to the whimsy of Valentine’s Day, February is quite the month!
 
You’ll find a variety of upcoming events, including the Leadership in Networking Committee Team (LINCT) on February 22 and the Multi-Chamber Virtual Progressive Networking event on February 23 – just to name a couple. Be sure to check out the Chamber events calendar at www.lislechamber.com/events/calendar to find details about meetings and events.
 
Speaking of events, the Board of Directors recently finalized the planned events for 2022. We are excited to build upon the success of last year’s Golf Outing (July) and the Turkey Trot Tune-Up 5K (November), in addition to developing other events and value-driven options. We are always open to new ideas and welcome anyone who is interested in getting involved to sponsor, plan or help volunteer.
 
On behalf of the entire Board of Directors, we hope the year is off to a productive start. As always, we’d love to hear from you to learn how the Chamber can best support you. The Board welcomes the opportunity to speak with you to hear your ideas or feedback. I can be reached via email at [email protected].

Ambassador Spotlight

Claudine Rummer
Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce

Claudine Rummer is the Office Manager at the Chamber. She began working at the Chamber in April 2015. She became involved with the Ambassador Committee in July 2015 and has really enjoyed her time working with this Committee. While working with the Ambassador Committee, Claudine is in awe of how her fellow Ambassadors come together to mentor the new members as well as support all Chamber members especially during these difficult times.

Claudine grew up in Lisle and currently lives in Downers Grove. She enjoys photography and that is one of the many things she really enjoys about working at the Chamber. She also enjoys traveling and she considers herself lucky because she has been able to travel extensively. There are still many other destinations that she hopes to visit one day. The opportunity of working at the Chamber has provided her with a feeling of satisfaction when she sees the hard work that all of the members and volunteers put in for the Community. They are the ones that make the Chamber as great as it is. Claudine’s favorite quote is “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”

Four Lakes has the “Anyone Can Do” attitude and wants to help you learn to ski or snowboard. Our Snowsports School is ready to get you started and to always teach students to ski & snowboard safely, in control, proficient and most importantly, HAVE FUN!

Private and Group lessons can be scheduled on weekday afternoons and evenings, weekends and holidays. Telemark and Nordic lessons are also available upon special request. Call our Reservation Center, and we will place you, your children, or your group in a lesson program that is convenient for you.

We offer the opportunity for any group to come enjoy the slopes. Birthday parties, YMCA, park district, corporate outing, family reunion, scout groups, or just a handful of your friends are all welcome to pre-register and receive the best group pricing available for a complete day of entertainment.

Each year we are inspired to continue to grow this Chamber and enhance the benefits offered to each and every member. We are motivated to continue to showcase your businesses. With each year we strive to improve and build on things we learned in the previous year and try something new.
 
Why should you join the Chamber? Membership not only strengthens your search engine optimization (SEO)’s on the web but allows you to market to portions of the community you might not have been able to reach before. Visibility and a connection to your community is important especially now. It is important to be informed of the local, state and federal programs offered to businesses and with Chamber membership, you will be kept up to date on pertinent information for your business.
 
We might not be able to meet in person with all of our meetings, but virtual meetings keep us connected to our members. It has been an important tool to help our members network. Networking helps establish beneficial relationships with other businesses and within our Chamber we are working hard to help our members create those lasting business relationships. The Multi-Chamber State of the County Expo and Luncheon was held in January. Over 180 members from 11 different Chambers came together for DuPage County Chairman Dan Cronin's State of the County Address. In April, the Multi-Chamber Economic Luncheon and Expo will be held in-person and will have a featured speaker from the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. Stay tuned for more information.
