Welcome to our newsletter. Once a month we will update you with news about David Matero Architecture and our community. We welcome your comments, questions and feedback.
Maine Branch Studios
What started out as a summer/weekend 700 sf Maine Branch cottage turned into a year-round home. To give owners more space, separate He/She Sheds were designed past the shoreland zone. These sheds will allow the clients to work from home in their separate spaces. Construction by Chartier Building & Remodeling.
Headline
The WRB (weather resistance barrier) has been installed and electrical rough-in is well on its way at Headline. Many of the final details have been finalized and everyone is anxiously awaiting windows. Construction by Thorner Building Corp.
On the Drawing Board
Due to the Phippsburg ordinance for a usually small site, DMA was limited on this site to a maximum footprint of 1,500 sf. Oriented to take advantage of western water views and a roof to accept solar panels, this energy efficient home is also spatially efficient. This design includes a special room just for the bathtub – an important part of our client’s daily ritual.
Kennebec Terrace
Framing is complete at the Kennebec Terrace in Bath, overlooking the Kennebec River. The three structures are connected by a bridge to create a family compound with indoor and outdoor views of the water. Construction by Chartier Building and Remodeling.
Views from the Jobsite
The foundation footings and walls have been formed and poured at Cold Spring Farm Road. There's been a little delay as the contractor deals with some unexpected interior issues at the main house, but it will make for an even better project in the end. Construction by Chartier Building and Remodeling.
Dance Dance Dance
Employee Side Gigs - If your little one just can’t stop their dancing feet, join Allison’s Freestyle Fun Youth Dance Class at the Bath Dance Works, 72 Front Street, every Tuesday from 4:45-5:30 pm. Centre Street Arts Gallery
M. Jane Rosenfield creates a loose and abstract style with intuitive color changes. Her paintings allow the viewer's imagination to take over with their own interpretation. More of her work can be found at Centre Street Arts Gallery, 11 Centre Street in Bath.
The Oculus, World Trade Center Transportation Hub, NYC
