Anne Braden Commemoration
Civil Rights activist and advocate for racial equality, Anne McCarty Braden, will be commemorated in an event held at St. George's Episcopal Church on Saturday, March 4th at 10:30am.

Stepping Up with Termaine Hicks
It is well known in the Episcopal Church and beyond: Education for Ministry (EfM) changes lives. Most of the more than 120,000 people who have participated in the four-year theological education program will agree. Many will have a tale of transformation to share. Few will have a story as heart-wrenching as Termaine Hicks’s. Framed for rape in 2001 at the age of 26, Hicks was falsely incarcerated for nearly two decades. Termaine Hicks is the keynote speaker at the 2023 Education for Ministry Conference, sponsored by the School of Theology at the University of the South. Hicks’s keynote speech will take place on June 21, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. CDT. The presentation is free and open to the public and will be livestreamed for those who cannot attend in person. Dismantling Racism Training
Dismantling Racism Training opportunities for the next several
months are posted on the Diocesan website. The Diocese of Kentucky is now offering three different formats: virtually via zoom as a one day session, virtually requiring two evening zoom sessions, or as a one day, in-person event at various locations throughout the diocese. Racial Healing Commission Seeking Additional Trainers
The Racial Healing Commission is seeking additional trainers for the Dismantling Racism Program and recruiting persons who can assist with the technology for virtual meetings. Training for these positions will be provided. A small stipend will be offered. Episcopal Relief Highlights the Work of St. John's, Murray
A year after the devastating tornadoes in Western Kentucky, Episcopal Relief wrote an article highlighting the recovery by Episcopal Churches, specifically St. John's, Murray. "A year into recovery, we remember this disaster and all the people lost and impacted by it. Episcopal churches in the affected areas were able to reach immigrants, people living in poverty and those with special needs in Bowling Green, Mayfield and other hardest-hit places during the relief phase, and now the recovery work continues." Third Act Faith: Day of Action
Third Act Faith is calling on the faithful
to join its 3.21.23 Day of Action. Third Act, an organization of people at least 60 years old, is organizing a “Day of Action” that will give all of us, regardless of age, the opportunity on March 21 to join forces and pressure the “Big Four” banks (Bank of America, Citi, Chase and Wells

Help Connect American Descendants of Slavery with Their Ancestors
Save the Date: Lunch and Learn with Reckoning, Inc.
You have a unique opportunity to help connect American descendants of slavery with their ancestors. Save the date of Friday, March 10 at noon ET for a virtual lunch and learn with Reckoning, Inc, a nonprofit whose mission is “to examine the legacy of slavery in America, and to create ways for communities to engage with this information”. The folks at Reckoning are asking antebellum congregations like many of the congregations within our diocese to transcribe baptismal records of enslaved persons to a database which, once launched, will provide a public means for American descendants of slavery to learn of their own family stories.
A Zoom link will be provided closer to the date of the event. Also, for those within the Louisville area, the Cathedral will host a group brown bag lunch in the Chapter Room for those who would like to join in. More information forthcoming.
