As we kick off our 55th birthday as a chapter, AFP-GLAC is calling on you to help grow our Chapter Fund. Your donation will support scholarships for members that may be experiencing hardships and help us underwrite the costs of running the chapter so we can serve you better. AFP is transitioning to a new membership database. What does that mean for you?

On March 7, AFP will launch a new membership database. We are undergoing this transition to better serve you as a professional fundraiser and AFP member. To make this transition as seamless as possible for you, and to minimize any disruptions or frustration, please read through this list carefully and be prepared to take action.

Here’s what you need to know:

• Beginning Thursday, February 23, through Tuesday, March 7, the AFP Connect discussion forums will be unavailable due to the database transition. 

• Beginning Friday, March 3, through Tuesday, March 7, membership join and renewal functionality will be unavailable. You also may experience delays through AFP’s customer service channels during that timeframe. We appreciate your patience!

• On March 6 or 7, you will receive an email with subject line “Welcome to Salesforce: Verify Your Account” that you must click through to verify your account.
• Until you verify your account, you will not be able to access your AFP member account.
• The email will come from <noreply@salesforce.com> on March 6 or 7, 2023.
• You have 7 days to take action on this email upon receipt, after which you will need to manually request a new email to verify your account.



• Here is an example of what the email will look like:

• When you click through the “Verify Your Account” email, you will be prompted to reset your password. From this point forward you will use your email address and new password to log in to your AFP member account.

• If you have any issues locating your “Welcome to Salesforce: Verify Your Account” email or with logging in, please contact us at 800-666-3863 or afp@afpglobal.org.

By attending this cohort-style workshop series, you will learn how to deepen relationships with donors through a Cause Selling approach, ultimately growing your supporter base and increasing revenue. Connect and collaborate with your fellow LA-area fundraising professionals, train with Fundraising Academy trainers from around the country, discover effective prospecting strategies, fine tune your solicitation approach, and explore ways to dramatically improve your organizations' stewardship plans.

There are a few important updates for the Chapter Job Board.

PLEASE NOTE OUR POLICY REGARDING THE INCLUSION OF SALARY RANGES ON ALL POSTINGS.

In order to promote gender and racial pay equity, AFP is leading the way and will be requiring salary ranges for all new positions posted on the AFP-GLAC Job Board. This information must be included in the PDF.

In addition – we will be returning to our pre-COVID pricing for job postings and in recognition that finding the right person to join your organization takes time, recently it seems that it takes even more time – so we have added a two-month posting option with discounted pricing.



Beginning March 1, 2023 the fees for posting a position announcement on the AFP-GLAC Job Board will be:
